The area
Neighborhood: Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
How to get there
  • Causeway Bay • 3 min walk

Wonderful shopping place
Feb 2019 • Family
If you want to buy gifts for family and friends during your stay at HK, this is a place to go to. From suitcases to princess stuff to clothes to bags to watches, they have it all and different price range. There are shops behind the shops on this lane. Spend a day, explore the place before you start buying. The things are of good quality. You definitely need to master the art of bargaining as there’s oodles if scope for it.

Little street market in causeway bay
Apr 2019 • Friends
This is just a narrow street with a selection of stalls and clothing shops. My niece found a lovely dress here in a shop which was very reasonable. It’s a good place for hair things and underwear and no hassle from stall holders.

Bargain Goods - street market in Causeway Bay
Jan 2019 • Solo
This is a street market along Jardine's Cresent in Causeway Bay near the MTR Station Exit F. The market is similar to what you will find at Fai Yuen Street in Mongkok and the Wan Chai street market one district west.

Street venders are usually up and running by late morning and go strong until customers and foot traffic dies down later in the evening. What you find here is a flea market of low-cost clothing, accessories and other consumables that can be purchased at lower than store prices.

Be prepared to haggle a bit but don't worry about silly starting prices like what you might find at the Temple Street Markets (Jordan and Ya Ma Tei) or the Ladies Market (Mongkok). Nor should you expect a majority of prices to be fixed like what you often find at the Stanley markets (Stanley).

The venders at Jardine's Crescent are somewhere in the middle. They will usually come down a bit on prices in order to make a sale but don't expect huge drops from their starting price. Regardless, still best to shop around to get feel for what is on offer and what general prices are before negotiating with the venders if you are concerned about prices.

Nice Market - Not Too Big
Jan 2019 • Solo
A fairly decent street market in Causeway Bay. Much smaller than Temple Street Night Market in Kowloon but still has the same offerings.

The place is trash

Do not waste your time if you are a tourist. It is full of junk items, we went thinking it would be similar to other markets but trust me it was all rubbish...

Decent market.

I don’t enjoy shopping at all but if you want to buy some classic HK tat, you could do a lot worse than checking out this market. It’s not too big and sellers aren’t too pushy. It is very narrow though so on the busier days it might take a while to get through.

Mainly clothing and accessories but a more 'genuine' market than Ladies Market.
Mar 2018 • Solo
Jardine's Crescent Street Market is mainly a clothes / accessories market but there is also a small 'wet market' selling fish, meat and vegetables, which is always an interesting experience. I would say this is more of a market for locals rather than tourists (the opposite to the Ladies Market / Night Market) and as such I preferred it. Easy to find if you exit Causeway Bay MTR Station at Exit 'F1'. The market is a 10 second walk from this exit. Even if not a shopper, like me, markets are always great fun to browse around, to take photographs and to rub shoulders with the locals.

Not as good as ladies market
Mar 2018
It is located at causeway bay area. The location is pretty hard to find if you don't have map working on your phone. But there are few signs on the road so you better pay attention. There are many sellers, from clothes to bags and souvenirs, but it is nothing compared to the ladies market.

Small market with quality items
Jan 2018 • Solo
I like this market more than the ladies night market. The sellers/owners are not rude (mostly) and most items already have price tags. You may haggle a bit but they only give around 5-15 hkd discount.
Items: socks, quality fashion jewelries, clothes, hair clips, souvenir shirts.

I am not a fan of the flower stores (there are only 2). I was to buy 1 morning and while looking (without touching) for something I like, the owner literally shoved me and spoke Chinese. I said I’m buying and she spoke Chinese again and told something to the next store. So I did not bother going to the next one. Very very rude.

Nice market, authentic feel
Jan 2018 • Family
We enjoyed the trip here. Funny that the market is in-between large buildings with expensive and/or designer shops.
Lots of accessories (phone cases, bags, and women’s clothes). And nearby restaurants that feel very local. Great stop if you are in the Causeway area.
