40+ years in Hong Kong, awarded the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence 5...

40+ years in Hong Kong, awarded the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence 5 years in a row, 2012 to 2016,I take bookings up to a year in advance with NO deposit or pre - payment required. I do take last minute bookings - subject to my availability! I'm English and I am a private tour guide - I offer quality personal walking tours of Hong Kong. That's right - tours personalised to your custom specifications. If you don't want to do one of those horrible coach tours offered by the Hotel Concierges and if you are stuck for something to do in Hong Kong then contact me. My private walking tours are perfect for couples, families with kids (of any age!), cruise ship passengers, airport layover passengers, friends, solo traveller's and private groups of up to 8 people. Jamie's private tours - no ordinary experience

My son and I arrived in Hong Kong at 6:00 p.m. and we had to catch a flight out the next afternoon at 2:30. Jamie gave us some great ideas about a good place to eat our first evening and some great things we could do during the evening. Thanks to his advice we had the best dim sum we... More

Let me start by saying I'm a 45 year old woman who was traveling solo for the first time ever, and never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine I would set foot outside the safety of the HK airport, but I did!! And I don't regret it for a moment thanks to the awesome Jamie of J3 Tours!!... More

We (2 couples) have seen most of the obvious sights in HK over the year so we booked Jamie (J3 a Private Tours) to show us other sights we had not seen. He certainly delivered! We trained and local bussed out to the Sham Tseng Squatter Village, the Famous Goose Restaurant and the wonderful Sik Sik temple and a lot... More

We enjoyed the experience of touring Hong Kong and seeing some of the sights that we would have missed without an experienced guide. Canadians do appreciate the dry British sense of humour so that added to the fun of the day. The temple at the end of the tour and the insight into the "culture of luck" that is a... More

We just did two great tours with Jamie. On our first night in Hong Kong, Jamie met us at the hotel and gave us one of his signature night tours of Hong Kong. The tour give us a good introduction to the city, and allowed us to see its beauty at night. On our second day, Jamie gave us a... More

My first visit into Honk Kong. I had only 1 free day and I am so glad that I found Jamie. He totally customized the tour for me and I had a blast. Here is what I did: Hotel Pick Up Taxi to the Peak 2 Shopping Malls at the Peak Hong Kongs 2nd most expensive house, 9,900 sqft US$192,000,000... More

Jamie was right on time to meet my daughter and I at the Sheraton Hotel, located on Nathan Road in Kowloon. We had 4 hours to explore with him and had email communication in advance to let him know our interests. We were touring on a Sunday and had read that Victoria Peak was crowded that day so had suggested... More

Hi jeannielovesmaui, Thank you ever so much for your honest appraisal. In my defence our tour together was compromised by a HUGE pop up political rally (which no one seemed to be aware of) at the Peak and fast moving bad weather along with your daughter not feeling well. The rally made the whole Peak visit quite unpleasant due to... More

Jamie met us right on time and took my wife and I on a world wind tour of just where we wanted to go - using public transportation (cleanest, nicest, friendliest) we have ever encountered. First to the Giant Buddha climbing the near 300 steps and watching a service at the Temple. On to the Nunnery and its beautiful gardens... More

Jamie's tour is a very unusual concept in touring. Usually, a guide will represent a location, devise a plan of attack to get you to the highlights of the location and provide tidbits and facts as learned and experienced through their training and own native perspectives. Jamie does not pretend to do any of this. Jamie gives an easy walking... More

We were only going to be in Hong Kong for a day and a half -- not much time to see such an amazing city -- and we knew we would never be back so we needed each minute to count. We found Jamie through trip advisor (our go to place when traveling) and he delivered 150% more than his... More

Staying in Central

Neighborhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
