Stanley is very different to other parts of Hong Kong, or completely different from what you think about Hong Kong. Stanley, located at the southern of Hong Kong island, is much more relaxed with beaches, hills and coves. You will find the western atmosphere in this small Chinese town.

this place has changed dramatically over the years. Previously a quiet fishing village during the week which came alive on the weekends. A pace to buy great fish and vegetables it is now a trendy place to go shopping. There are also a few bars where you can get a decent lunch when you have finished all your shopping

I always find this place relaxing when I am in Hong Kong on business, there are a few nice bars and places to eat here and the sun sets beautifully over the sea. There is a nice mini beach area that you need to get to via the trail path and then walk down to it. Its not to hard... More

Took the bus #63 from North Point and got to Stanley for a walk. Felt fine with the sea breeze and the ambiance was good in Stanley.

Nice way to spend a morning. There is a ton of bars and restaurants to sit and watch the world go by. The Stanley market is a bit hidden but make sure to look for it and you won't be disappointed. It felt as though it was a place that locals came to and spent their weekend.

Very modernised with the Plaza and waterfront eating areas being updated since Iwas last there. A bit hard to find the markets but worth it when we did.

Stanley seem to retain the 'Western' influence and the haggling market where 'genuine' fakes are readily on sale for whatever you can haggle down to. There is a tidy beach area and on the opposite side of town a newer promenade area with restaurants, some multi-national. On the opposite side of the high profile restaurants there are a number of... All of the above rolled together. Ride there on the open top Big Bus from the city as it gives useful info on the route and some nice views. Stanley itself laid back, the informal market does not overbearing traders shouting offers at you the whole time and there is plenty of variety. Loads of restaurants and bars and it... More

The drive from Kowloon to Stanley is very good and enjoyable. Stanley, per se, is fine to see the old tradition being retained. The shops and eateries are places of visit.
