This is Hong Kong's landmark performing arena. Many local singers regard a live concert at Hung Hom as a milestone. The acoustics and arrangement are pretty nice. Location is unbeatable with plenty of public transportation options.

Attended concerts for 4 nights at the Hong Kong Coliseum, impression before going is that this is an old place (it was built in the 80s!). But it didn’t look or feel old. Nothing impressive of the exterior, zone and gates were clearly labelled, plenty of space around for concert goers to gather around before entering the coliseum.

Entrance into the coliseum was fast and fuss free, no security check (surprise surprise) and there were ushers all round to lead you to your seat.

As I got tickets from my friend, there was one show where the ticket we had was:
Section 54, Row2, Seat 84
Section 55, Row2, Seat 96
Seemed like it was totally away from each other? They were side by side to my relief. Completely didn’t understand the numbering mechanism of this.

Inside the coliseum, the seats were well arranged, staggered steps, all have a pretty good view of the stage. Have to praise the sound system, absolutely enhance the performer’s show.

The only very unpleasant experience at the coliseum was with the guards. They were all around during the concert, catching people doing photography with phone / camera. The issue was with the way they carry out their job, it was disrupting to the other concert goers. They would walk to the errant audience’s row and use a torch to shine if they were not able to access them to give a verbal warning. Due to their frequent pacing up and down on the walkways, it was very distracting and irritating and it blocks the view of the stage. I sat at the first row right after the aisle and personally felt that they were very very disrupting, some guards thought that half bending while walking would render them invisible, but not! After the concert, they were very harsh in chasing the audience to leave the coliseum as fast as possible. They were rude and really unpleasant!

The venue or events manager should give their guards proper training and station them strategically in the coliseum so that majority of the concert goers would not be disrupted.

Tips:
- Don’t bring big luggage bags to the coliseum for concert, the guards won’t allow entrance and there is no bag deposit area.
- Queue for the toilet will be very long before and after the concert. Leave some time for that.

The premier venue for concerts in Hong Kong. Conveniently located right next to Hung Hom station.

Transport is coodinated to allow concert goers to leave with little worry.

If you ever want to see a good show, this place is the place to go.

Its is unbelievable how ignorant the stewards are at this place. They come across as a team who has absolutely no clue what they're doing. We were moved several times without good explanation, and ended up with seats with limited viewing.
Furthermore you can't get any food or drinks at the venue which is totally surprising.

I'm from Spore and came here to attend concert, the sound system and stage mechanism is very good. Seats wise also unblock as the height of the rows is alright for photography. I used exit D3 of Hong Hom mtr, so I find this shortest walk back to mtr. Will come back for other concerts!

I understand that the venue can accommodate 12,000 people. It was a full house when I attended the concert on 13th May evening. The crowd control was well co-ordinated in every way during audience admission by the police and venue staff. Admittedly, entrance to venues is always easier to control because audience come at different timings and you have "bunching" just before the show starts. This is easily resolved. What is most difficult is crowd dispersal after the show because they all leave at one go.

In comparison to the concert I attended in Genting in April, I wish to give top marks to the coliseum venue for crowd dispersal measures and channels . In Genting, after the show at Arena of Stars venue, audience were channel to one single corridor inching their way back to their respective hotels. Escalators were still kept running in "up" and "down" functions even though everyone is leaving the arena and no-one is coming to it anymore.

When i left Hung Hom coliseum, the 12,000 audience were dispersed so quickly in more than one direction. There are different modes of transport waiting at Hung Hom -- rail, buses and taxis. Of course, there are people going back by foot to Hung Hom area and the hotel next door.

I enjoyed the show and had a wonderful evening. Now I know why the Hongkongers are so successful in putting up concerts and shows -- they put in a lot of pain in planning and organising.

One of Hong Kong's major venue's for large scale events, the Hong Kong Coliseum is located in the neighborhood area of Hung Hum, not far from the shores of Victoria Harbor and the district of East Tsim Sha Tsui. From a visitor perspective, there is little reason to venture here simply to see the grounds of the stadium unless you are coming for an actual event.

The Hong Kong Coliseum is just across the street from the Hung Hum Station where there is direct service to mainland China via train as well as the main MTR transportation system. The arena has held impressive events, particularly sports and was a feature venue during the East Asia Games held a few years back.

If you are visiting HK for an event to be held at the Hong Kong Coliseum, you can chose the nearby Hotel Icon if you want to stay close or just stay anywhere in the city for that matter, frequent and convenient transportation can get you to/from the Coliseum quickly. You are easily walking distance to many major hotels and restaurants in the Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) area from here.

This is not a tourist attractions but we decided to stopped by and took some photo. The building is impressive and looks like an upside down pyramid. We also bought ticket for the volleyball match available that day. The inner arrangement and decoration is elegant. Should not waste too much time for this place anyway.

Attended Vivian Chow’s concert. The view of the stage from my seat was not too bad. Red sector, seat 92. The seating platform is steep, which is good. Allow unblock view. Sound system was not as good. There was a lot of reverb. Maybe the floors should be acoustic treated again. The security were quite rude in the sense, when they catch you taking photos, they will shine their torch straight to your face. Firstly it’s rude, secondly it disturb the other concert goers. The management should relook at this again. After the concert, please be prepared to queue at Hong Hom MTR station.
