Small temple dedicated to Hau Wong near Kowloon Walled City
Mar 2020
There is a Hau Wong Temple located just north of the Kowloon Walled City Park on Junction Road. This temple was built in 1730s is dedicated to the Chinese General Hau Wong. It is also a Hong Kong Grade 1 historical building. Opening hours are 8am to 5pm.

What you will find is a nice temple compound which includes several halls and an outdoor garden area. There are fine reliefs & murals with figurines on the exterior walls, near the entrance as well as inside the temple. You'll also find traditional hanging red lanterns and stone lions guarding in front of the entrance.

The interior halls have added decorative shrines with deity figures, iron incense pots. There is a large image of Hau Wong painted on the entrance door to the main hall.

Overall, the temple is rather small and can be visited in short time, making it a nice inclusion for those planning to visit the nearby Kowloon Walled City Park.
