Place to visit, just to feel a sense of being in a market and to buy fresh fruits and boiled peanuts!!! Noticed that all prices were marked and similar to other stalls so was relieved and not too worried that I was over paying for...More

This is not something worth planning to do unless you have a high tolerance for crowds (and I mean heavy crowds even by Hong Kong standards), litter, grime, and cheap souvenirs. Not recommended.

My opinion of Hong Kong street markets was that I could get really good deals and will put my bargaining skills to the test. Contrary to what I thought, the vendors were rather rude and really did not have an appetite for any friendly haggling...More

Local market with a lot of cheap souvenirs, collectables, cheap clothes and shirts among others. But you need to bargain with the vendor.

Stalls selling much less variety of goods now. Still good for shopping adventurers who do not like shopping in standard brandname chain shops.

I think the street markets in HK are well past their sell-by dates and these days sell the poorest quality stuff. It's interesting to wander through and see what is on sale but be careful of the danger of getting your pocket or backpack picked...More
