The place is open to the public and one can wander in and out and take as many photos as pleases. The place was the Marine Police HQ hence the very historically colonial buildings. The highend shops are occupying spaces that are better served by cafes and period eateries. There is no need or relevance for these luxury goods boutiques.

This place was especially nice at night with many lights. During the day the crowd was mainly for shopping. I would not make a detour to see this place but dropped by on the way to Kowloon Canton Railway Clock Tower.

I recomend this place if you would like to enjoy good dinner, they have some luxury restuarntand and alos ome Irish Pubs with the tipical decoration from the past. Also besides the restuarnts there are some wathches shops if you can buy a luxury wathch. Teh restaurants are expensive. I recomend the enjoy a beer in mariner's place.

The buildings there are beautiful. There would be different deco from time to time that is very suitable for people who love taking photos.

Having stayed in the Marco Polo opposite 1881 Heritage, I had no idea about the work and restoration that had gone on in this area. Whilst I only managed to enjoy the bar within this site, the bar owner educated me in what had happened to restore this site of the old maritime police/fire station. The result is a really... More

There and so many colonial buildings left in Hong Kong, but 1881 Heritage is stunning. I was so shocked when I saw it. There are many luxurious modern malls in Hong Kong, but many feel identical, and it gets dull over time. 1881 Heritage has the nice colonial style, and features plants and flowers, which is a refreshing sight. The... More
