Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter is a unique fishing village that blends the old and new. The traditional lifestyle shared among fishermen or Tanka people with many antique junks and sampans are juxtaposed against fleets of luxury yachts and towering skyscrapers. The typhoon shelter is also home to many intangible cultural heritage, all being traces of the humble beginnings of Hong Kong when it was still a small fishing village.

Let us bring you back in time as you hop onboard our unique sampan boats, we will cruise through 13 different local landmarks around the charming Aberdeen fishing village. While cruising, try immerse yourself in the area’s rich culture and history, through our exquisitely designed audio guide, where you will listen to folk-tales, lullabies and narratives of the area. The museum is very small and hasnt changed over the years, but is still good to look thru and read about commercial aviation. And is free. However the main and best attraction is the sky deck which is very cheap to enter and a fantastic place to watch and photograph aircraft. There is no shelter or supplies, so take your own. However i have gone up and come back down again to get some food or toilet and been allowed back up by showing my ticket. An absolute must for Aviation Enthusiast !!!!!

Adjacent to the IMAX theater in T2 is the free Aviation Discovery Center and, through it, access to the Skydeck for an open air view of both runways (about $2).

Useful facility on the roof of an 8 storey building adjoining Terminal 2. No seats or shade provided. Opens rather late on weekdays (11 am). Modest cost (15 HKD). Photography can be excellent depending on runway use pattern and the sun.

Great place to watch aircraft movements ,when the sun is in the right direction the photos can be exceptional, Only downside is the heat ,there are no seats or shelter, but you can take refuge in areas with shade, but in my opinion the view makes up for the downside. Best advise I can give take supply's with you plenty to drink and eat, with a hat and you wont regret it,if watching aircraft is your thing.

An overrated place. This deck does not have any seating arrangements. More that that, that place is just empty, just a rooftop. Free binoculars are useless: too dirty to see anything through. And for all of this you have to pay 15 HKD! It is not a lot of money, but it is like giving money for nothing. Don't go there, the view is not good, the planes are landing and taking off on the other side of the runways. You have a much more better view from inside terminal 2 for example.
