Respectable endeavour making us of a heritage attraction in Tai Po
Nov 2021
Green Hub is a project by the Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Gardens and makes use of the historic Old Tai Po Police Station on Wan Tau Kok Lane in Tai Po. It is an endeavour which sponsors sustainable and low-carbon living while managing and maintaining this Grade I Historic Building (2021). Opening hours are 10am to 5pm daily (Closed on Tuesdays).

At Green Hub, visitors can participate in scheduled tours through their website or independently visit the Old Tai Po Police Department exhibition rooms, Coop Store and Eat Well Canteen. They offer a host of programmes and workshops for schools, groups, families and individuals on green living and life as well. All is described well on the Green Hub for those interested.

Visits to Green Hub are free for the public. During my recent visit, a kind host explained the Green Hub objectives and briefed on what areas of the heritage attraction I could visit. Then, they leave you on your own to explore the Old Tai Po Police Department, which was restored to its near original state in recent years and makes for an enjoyable historic attraction to visit and explore.

Note: It is also worth making a visit to the Old District Office North which is just above the Old Tai Po Police Station. While you can't enter that historic building, you can enter the grounds and walk around it, enjoying the stately and impressive red brick exterior and early 20th-century colonial architecture.

Green Hub is the cafeteria inside the Taipo Old Police Station. It sells veggie food and light lunch. The cafeteria has its own plantation. $45 for 3 types of food. $60 for 4 types. It serves about 5 types each "round". Chick Pea Quinoa Salad very delicious.
Open 10am to 4pm
15 minutes walk from Taipo Market Station.
Visit the Old Police Station before or after Green Hub. Nice Museum.

Another beautiful view of Hong Kong
Dec 2015 • Friends
Hong Kong is well-known by its shopping malls. Most people imagine Hong Kong as a full of skyscrapers and shopping malls. My first time in Hong Kong was totally different from my imagination. Our residential college had a educational trip to Green Hub farm in Hong Kong. We went there and we went to the top of the mountain and saw amazing nature from over there. One of the great experience during this trip was after we reached to Green hub guest house we cooked vegetarian food using the vegetables that we collected from the farm. Thing that i most liked there was the guest house. It is small and nothing really special. However, after we heard a history of this little building, we were amazed. Every single details has its history. That guest house was the police during British colonization. There are many huge trees. When the police opened for the first time in that area, they planted those trees in order to conceal themselves from their enemies. We saw photo that shows the policemen were staying in front of the building and trees were so little. They built this building kind of in the hill to see everything is safe around that area. All of the guide there are so nice and friendly. If someone wants to go to Hong Kong, i suggest you to go to green hub farm and stay in green hub guest house to see another beautiful view of Hong Kong. After this trip i knew Hong Kong is a wonderful place where has both beautiful nature and beautiful urban area.

Ever Wonder How Heritage can be Blended with Greenery?
Apr 2016 • Family
Have you ever visited a place as part of your kid's field trip, and then recommended that for travellers? Many people I know have not, and I can only think of this one. This is called Green Hub, and for good reason. Look out for the ecological features and low carbon living program.
Situated at a site not far from Tai Po railway station, this old Tai Po Police Station is a Grade 1 listed historic building built in 1899. The visit is more lively and educational when you join the guided tour.
