Old industrial building repurposed for shopping in Lai Chi Kok
Sep 2021
The D2 Shopping Mall is located just outside Lai Chi Kok MTR Station exit D2 (hence the name). What you are find are two buildings (D2 One & D2 Two), originally industrial buildings that were repurposed as part of a revitalisation project and opened to the public as a hip and trendy shopping venue back in 2012.

The venues are open from 10am to 10pm. Within you'll find a range of local, boutique, handcraft and vintage shops mixed in with some brand name retailers. There is a food court, range of casual eateries, cinema and rooftop garden that form part of the D2 complex as well.

Snowy winter decorations
Dec 2020 • Couples
Due to covid, there’s no chance to travel this year (and next year as well). Get the snowy Christmas feel at D2 place instead. Everyone is taking photos here and the “snow” is turning to yellow ...

Hidden gem in Lai Chi Kok
Feb 2019 • Business
This is a rare hip mall in Hong Kong. Without the usual big names, D2 Plaza has a lot of interesting stores to explore. It is also a good place to explore the local art scene. Surrounded by rundown or redeveloping industrial buildings, it is a little known local secret.

Interesting Artist and Boutique Mall
Aug 2017 • Couples
D2 Place One and Two were an amazing collection of artsy boutique-style stores, eateries and entertainment. There were many stores here that held interesting items and products not found in your usual large commercialized malls. There was a wide variety of small shops that sold goods ranging from clothing, to skin care, to accessories, to artisan goods. On the weekend they have an area for local pop-ups to come and sell their wares. It was a very refreshing shopping experience and I would go again.

Addition of D2 Place Two
May 2017 • Couples
With the addition of phase 2, D2 Place Two, even more interesting shops and eateries.

Essentially, industrial buildings turned into artsy malls.

Interesting Lychee & Friends Pop Up Store
Mar 2017 • Solo
Was in the Lai Chee Kok Area when I came across this mall, D2 Place -One. There is another annex known as D2 Place -Two.

There is a Lychee & Friends Pop Up Store at D2 Place - One which sells cute paraphernalia of the characters. There are also local design, vintage stores where you can easily spend an hour just browsing or looking for suitable gifts. The place is popular with the office crowd during the lunch hour and there are lines at most restaurants.

Tremendous Potential
Feb 2017 • Business
The entire place feels well designed, creative and fresh. Perhaps its greatest asset is that it is clearly helping to attract local, creative, original businesses.

That said, it's a bit sleepy, as most of the stores didn't seem to open until after lunch. Also, I'm not sure it has found its niche yet, as there was a wide variety of stores there, including some that seemed a little bit like trinkets.

I suppose that when more businesses get in there, it will begin to fulfill its promise.

Trendy and a bit arty
Jun 2016 • Family
Named after the MTR exit that serves the building. Converted into a small arty mall with some good restaurants and cafes that range from very affordable to "check your credit card remaining limit"

Nearest MTR station is Lai Chi Kok, exit D2.
