Walking in Hong Kong can be daunting; due to the terrain, walks in nature often turn into hikes or uphill/downhill slogs. Sometimes you feel like that, sometimes you don't. Bowen Road stretches from Mid-Levels Central past Wanchai and Happy Valley, offering a two-hour round-trip walk that is mostly shaded, has lovely views over Hong Kong, and is FLAT, a rarity here. Highly recommend.

Excellent, well maintained track, great views overlooking HK sights. You can get a taxi to Bowen Rd Park and walk in from there. There are toilets about half way along the track. Whole track is quite flat and can be taken at any pace.

Been in Hong Kong many times and lived there twice for 6 months each time but no one ever told me about this. My favourite thing to do in Hong Kong now.
My route from Central was as follows:
Up the mid levels escalator, short cut through the historic police station, into the botanic gardens heading east and up, cross the pedestrian bridge then left onto McDonnell? street. Head up the steps following the peak tram line for a few minutes then left when you come up onto the magazine gap road bridge and follow the road til you get to Bowen Road. Walk to end and turn around. Did the same in reverse but didn't take escalators, came down Elgin Street which was fun. 3 hours round trip.
Enjoy.

The Bowen Road Fitness Trail is an easy trail in the Mid-Levels above Wanchai and Happy Valley that is 3km long, nicely paved with a couple interesting things to see along the way.
The trail is popular running path for residents. You'll encounter quite a few joggers and an equal number of walkers. Viewpoints are pretty good but not as impressive as what you find on the Lugard Road trail further west above Central district.
You'll find a leisure area at the Wanchai Gap Road intersection. There are a handful of shrines along the path. You'll find one of the six historic city of Victoria boundary stones as well as the Lover's Rock, a 9 metre granite monolith which is interesting to take a look at.
Overall, the Bowen Trail is sort of poor man's Lugard Road trail from a sightseeing perspective. It is a better fitness trail for those looking for a place to jog or run by comparison.

Starting where Bowen Road begins on Magazine Gap Road, the "trail" winds its way towards the end at Stubbs Road. Totally paved, it is an easy and level walk. There are public toilets and places where you can rest along the way. There are also pieces of exercise equipment and chidren's play areas. It is extremely popular with walkers and runners. There are views of the city below as you progress from above Admiralty, Wanchai and Causeway Bay. If you don't live in the area and have to walk up, there are steep walks up from Garden Road, the Peak Tram terminus, Wan Chai and even Happy Valley. Beware of the dog poo!

I am staying in a serviced apartment on Wan Chai Gap Road where one of the roads that heads up to Bowen Road Fitness Trail is right outside the door. The hill on the way up is really steep so I was puffing and my heart was pounding throughout the 7 minutes it took me to get to the trail (a good start if the goal is fitness) albeit it's doable at any pace - as witness is the number of older local residents making their way slowly up. So if you're not in a rush it's still viable. The trail itself is pleasantly flat, dappled sunlight through the tress make it pleasant and the gaps in the trees provide spectacular views of the high rise appartments and sky-scrapers on Hong Kong Island and across to Kowloon. A pleasant way to get a work out and some sight seeing all in one - although I'd recommend not to do it in the heat of the day, I was sweating heavily at 7:00am so at peak daytime heat it would be grossly unpleasant. A tip, make sure you take a bottle of water to stay hydrated.

…as well as beautiful parks to see too. Some of the parts are a little narrow considering how busy it can get but other features more than make up for this, like the aforementioned views and very well looked after public toilets.

Great trial for a short run. Nice and quiet with great views. Easy to get to from city centre.
A very popular route for local joggers.

Had heard about the trail, and it exceeded expectations
Staying in centre of Wan Chai was only a 15-20 minute uphill walk to the trail.
Nice views, and car free, was a flat 6k run, half way up to the peak, partly in morning shade, great to see people of all ages jogging and running.
And in Wan Chai Park saw many locals limbering up for the day doing stretching and Tai Chi, very atmospheric.
Worth the effort to escape the manic aspect of HK
