A hidden oasis of coolness & calm
Jul 2016 • Couples
A hidden oasis of coolness & calm in a sweaty & noisy Chongqing. Tushansi temple, which I believe dates from the Tang dynasty (tourist info, as usual in Chongqing, is in short supply) is high in the mountains overlooking Dongshuimen Bridge across the Cháng Jiāng river (AKA Yangtze) and the business centre of the city. It is surrounded by a forest park with walks - but again no maps, it was raining, so we didn't explore. Nice tea area with a view down into the valley, though a bit obscured by trees - need a good pruning!
TIP - Taxi drivers don't know this place, so be ready to guide them, GPS Co-ords are: 29.549489, 106.607478 If the taxi doesn't wait you will need to make a short walk down hill to Chongwen Road to hail one.
