E'ling Park is located on the top of a small mountain in the center of Chongqing, it would charge 20 or 30RMB to climb up the pagoda to have a panoramic view of the skycrapers, but it was free when we arrived. This is the best place to view Chongqing City, you can feel the modernity and fashion of Chongqing when you are standing on it. Nice ! The park itself is a good place to relax, there are some embassy buildings at the entrance of this park, showing the good relationship between China and other countries.
It will take you around 1 hour to visit this park, subway is available to reach this place, only 10 minutes walking after getting out the exit.

Visited Eling (Early) Park at the top of the mountain. Pagoda at the top with a great view of the valley and Jialing River below. Very crowded as it is a weekend, and people are here to see the Chrysanthemums. We purchased a couple of persimmons across the street. Park was loaded with azaleas.

Getting here is fairly easy as it's within the city still. Once you enter the park it's just a short climb up to the tower (less than ten minutes), and then start climbing the floors of the tower. I think there are eight floors in all, and the view from most of them is very good. You can easily make excellent panoramas of the Chongqing skyline from up here. The viewing space on each floor is quite enough, but of course it can fill up and for some reason almost everyone (including us) hits the top level, so trying to get your photos can be a pain. But drop down one or two levels, there will likely be very few people and the view is pretty much the same.

Fantastic views of the city high up on the bend of the river. Make the effort to go on a clear day, some days are very misty and hard to see at a distance making it hard to take decent photographs. Best seen at night with all the lights on the buildings and bridges. A great place for budding photographers. I would go again and recommend to a friend. There is an entrance fee and drinks and food are triple the price inside, 6 yuan for water when its 2 yuan else where

Part of our day tour. Nice park but at this time of the year the main feature of the temple was closed. So the walk around the park was nice. Views over the city from the park were not as good as summer time.
For Australian's it has the location of the first Australian embassy to China now government buildings and not open to public.

Fantastic views from the top for the city. We arrived before dark and was told that it looks great at night with the lights which I do not doubt as the view is indeed spectacular.

Visited the park just off the subway line and climbed the hill to reach the tower. Park entry was free, but the tower costs 10RMB for a ticket. Ascending the stairs to the top level was worth it for the 360 degree views of the city and the 2 rivers that meet. It's a great spot for a few photos. In the daytime, the haze can be a little heavy. On a clear day or night the photos can turn out great.

The 'E' for this place literally means 'Goose' in Chinese. It's a small enclave above the city's hill with chic restaurants and pubs catering to the expats. It overlooks the Jialing River, the main tributary of the Yangtze, forming the confluence at Chongqing.

E'ling, or Erling Park, is located on the highest hill separating the Jialing and Yangtze rivers. It is close to the confluence of these two rivers and is only about a 15-20 min drive from downtown Chongqing. Erlin(g) means Goose Head, the hill is said to reassemble a goose's head.

The park was originally privately owned by a wealthy Chongqing salt businessman in the 1920s who called it Liyuan Park. The park reverted to public ownership after WWII.

The main attraction of the park are the absolutely stunning views of the whole of Chongqing city and the surrounding mountains, for the best views climb the Pagoda where one can view the confluence of the two rivers. Although we didn't go at night we were told that the views are especially impressive on a clear night (if you are lucky enough to get one!!). Also of note is the fact that Chiang Kai-shek had a residence within the park during WWII when Chongqing was the capital of China, however he didn't apparently spend much time in this exposed location due to the almost constant Japanese bombing.

In addition to the magnificent vistas and lush greenery the park consists of pagodas, pavilions, lotus ponds / water features and arched bridges. There are a few snack stalls and restaurants. The park is very popular with locals who often congregate to perform tai-chi and play board games.

A must see when visiting Chongqing.
