We had a great couple days with Annie as our guide to Beijing. She met us at the train station (as we arrived from Shanghai) and transferred us to the hotel. We arranged a meeting time for the next day.
She was perfectly on time each of the three days we met. First day we traveled out to he Muitianyu section of the Great Wall. We took the chair lift, enjoyed about 2 hours hiking the wall, and then had a fun toboggan ride down. Annie took us to a Chinese tourist place for an authentic Chinese tourist lunch which was delicious. We then did a quick stop back in Beijing at the Olympic Park - Bird's Nest and Water Cube (not a lot to do but neat to see). Then we headed to the Hutong where we had a fun rickshaw/pedicab ride through the Hutong while Annie shared some info about it. We ended at a family's home in the Hutong who invited us in to see how they lived. Very cool.
Day two - we went to Tienanmen Square and Forbidden City and had a great several hour tour, where Annie shared a great deal of knowledge and details we found very interesting. Lunch this day was a Beijinger local place not too far from the Forbidden City. We ended the day with a nice walk around the Summer Palace and dragon boat ride across the lake.
Last day she went with us to the airport and ensured we got checked in and off on our way.
Great arrangements and Annie was terrific! Highly recommend -- and the price of just over $300/person for the three of us including the driver/car, both transfers and two lunches was great.

We had a great trip to Hangzhou from Shanghai. Our tour leader was wonderful and very friendly. We were a little concerned because we didn't have a lot of specifics after we booked until very close to the date of the tour. However, all worked out really well. We were picked up at our hotel and delivered with a ticket to the train station with directions on what train to take and where. Another guide was waiting for us in Hangzhou and she took us to a Pagoda (6 Harmonies), a tea plantation and WestLake. She was lovely and answered every question we had and was full of good information. She too delivered us back to the train station and our original guide met us back in Shanghai to take us back to our hotel.
Luckily, my worries were unfounded! A wonderful day from start to finish!

China International Travel Service planned a 16-day trip through China for my wife and I. We started in Beijing and traveled to Pingyao, Xi'an, Chengdu, Emeishan, Chongquing, a Yangtze River Cruise and finally Shanghai. The guides they provided spoke English well and did a good job. The hotels in which we were booked were 5-star and excellent. My only complaint was the amount of food provided to us at lunch. We typically received enough food to feed eight people, not two! But all in all, a great trip, and we would use CITS again.

Our guide - Snow (that's her name) - was very knowledgeable about China, Beijing, the history and political situation too. She was very good and could answer all of our questions. I would hire her again in a heartbeat.

I booked a 2-day private tour for my family (including my mom who is on wheelchair and my very active 2-year old son. Our tour guide Jason was very professional, nice and friendly. He was always on time in arriving at our hotel waiting for us to start the tour. He was very considerate about us especially that we have mobility issues and my son was having occasional tantrums. As language is a challenge anywhere we went to in Beijing, it was really very convenient for us to have our own private tour and really helpful tour guide who sometimes had to be our translator. Our trip would not be perfect if we didn’t need it took this tour. Thank you so much to Jason and the rest of CITS team.

A few years ago, I would not have imagined trying to see China by myself. But, after a few more group tours at other locations where my fellow travelers drove me crazy, I was returning to China for business and decided to see more of the country on my own, with a guide and driver. I am so glad I did, and so glad I used CITS! A colleague recommended CITS. My email and WeChat communication with Mr. Liu Jun at the agency were quick and effortless.
When I arrived in Beijing, Mr. Xue met me at the airport, easing any anxiety about transport to the hotel. Mr. Liu was a fantastic driver, always there when needed and making access to sights so convenient. I applaud his ability to drive around Beijing- I could never do it! Each day I was in Beijing Mr. Xue and Mr. Liu arrived on time. The schedule was very comfortable and I never felt rushed. Mr. Xue provided just the right amount of information about each site, with enough time to soak in the nature of the place. I appreciate his additional information about China history and culture. The service arranged the Pentahotel in Beijing, which was quirky and fun with a good location. The service assigned someone to get me through the train station gates and to the proper waiting area for the train to Xi'an, which was very helpful.
Upon arrival in Xi'an, the guide Ms. Ruth and the driver Mr. Zhue met me at the train station for another stress-free transfer. The Titan Times Hotel was very enjoyable. Mr. Zhue was another wonderful driver who remained completely calm in the midst of traffic and parking situations that are incredibly tough!
I cannot say enough good things about Ms. Ruth as a guide. I saw the "usual" sights in Xi'an including the terra cotta warriors, ancient pagodas, and the city wall. Ms. Ruth arranged those visits at times the sites were quiet, and provided lots of background on the history and culture of the places. I also arranged to see the Yaotuo kiln site, an ancient kiln complex about 2 hours outside of Xi'an. Neither the guide nor driver had been there before, and Ms. Ruth researched the area and had lots to tell me about it the day of our trip. At the site there was a local guide available, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the rural area of China, the ancient kiln site, and revitalized town, and meeting some local potters and residents. After busy sites in Beijing and Xi'an, it was fascinating to be the only foreigner in town! That day was long, and I appreciate the professionalism and cheer that Ms. Ruth and Mr. Zhue demonstrated.
The team helped me get on the train to Shanghai on the last day, and I proceeded to Shanghai for my workshop.
I would not hesitate to use CITS again for a day trip or a extended trip, whether I was traveling alone or with others. My experience was with very professional guides who are obviously well-respected in their fields. The drivers were professionals at navigating busy, complex cities and unmarked rural areas. Thank you CITS for a fantastic experience in China!

Last month I made a 2-week trip to China (Shanghai, Suzhou, Guangzhou, Xi'an). I have traveled extensively around the world, and I usually make all my own arrangements. However, based on my experience from previous trips to China, I realized this would be challenging in China, especially from a linguistic perspective, so I contacted CITS to arrange a private tour. The service I was provided was outstanding. The agent with whom I dealt answered all my inquiries promptly and completely. She was unfailingly courteous, and she made several useful suggestions. All the arrangements worked out perfectly. I could not have been more satisfied. I would urge anyone planning a private tour of China to consider CITS.

We got a card from a man in the Forbidden City with an offer for a tour which included the great Wall, Olympic Village and the Summer palace.
On the card it said China international Travel Service and the name Richard.
Because the tour only was Rmb500 for us two and our children (11 and 14) we thought it was a good price.
Knowing that these kind of tours always bring you along some factories because of the low price. So that part we accepted.
The lady was in time but forgot to tell her name (nor she didn't ask for our names) We had to pay first and then went of (a bit strange). First we went through a silk shop, she called it a museum...As we are good at this we were outside within 2o minutes. Than on to some Jadeshop and we we were outside within 15 minutes without buying anything unwanted. The guide was a bit surprised seeing us back in such a short time.
Then off to the Great wall. She insisted on buying the tickets but I had a feeling and bought them myself. It was nice over there, not so crowded and with great views.
Than she brought us to a restaurant where only Chinese were having lunch. We like that and the food was very good only a little pricy.
After that we drove by the Olympic village where she promised us a stop. No time!
Than a stop at a teashop were we could try tea (for free) wich was okay because my wife and daughter like tea. We bought some tea here and left within 25 minutes.
And than the final part, the Summer palace. We had to ask for it but they would take us there. We agreed to be back in 1 and a half hour. But as we returned no minibus... We waited for some 20 minutes but they were gone.
So we took a taxi to the subway and went back by subway which costed us an extra Rmb40. So if you want a cheap day tour, don't mind some factories and want to get back to the hotel by yourself this trip is okay.
Otherwise, don't do this one especially the end is disappointing.

We (a group of four Chilean friends) did a 13 days private tour to China with excellent tour guides. In Beijing (Bim/Oscar excellent & smart with Shou shou the driver) – in Xi’an (Nieves-lovely girl) – Guilin (Oscar good!) – Hangzhou (Olga) – Suzhou (Mrs. Mai) and Shanghai (Ron excellent!) and let me highlight the performance of Olga - an extraordinary guide, Olga was a very informative knowledgeable guide she told us a lot of history and information on all the places we visited. She was very caring and looked after all the group on the tour. We were most impressed with the job that she did.
As CITS is a reputable travel agency, their service has been excellent all the way through. We were enriched us with China’s ancient culture. I recommend the private tour. The agency fulfilled the whole program. Thank you!!.-
