We have took this tour on May 2013. I have sent the places to visit and they arrange the trip with perfect program. Two night in Beijing and one night in Xian, one night on the train from Xian to Beijing. We really love the tour guide Bob from Bejing. He is taking full responsibility like our father. Even the American tourist is asking is that yours father while he is giving information and asking take care to us before we taking the sky train to great wall. The foods are also ok and hotel are nice too. So far until now they don't forget our birthday and sending birthday wish to us every year. Really appreciate their effort and such a sweet service.

We were picked up at the port of Tianjin and taken to our centrally located hotel in Beijing. We only really wanted a " drive-by" and a quick tour of the Hutongs and the Forbidden Cty, as we were spending a whole week in Beijing and are we have a short attention span and are not terribly good tourists!. Lead to China was great at doing what we asked them. They were very flexible and understood that what we wanted was an overview of the city.

We visited Beijing in November 2015 in advance of sailing on Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas. After looking at several tour companies and obtaining quotes, we settled on Lead to China primarily due to the price of a 3 day private tour for my wife and I which included the nearly 3 hour transfer from Beijing to Tianjin for the cruise. Our guide Andie did an excellent job during our 3 days. We emailed back and forth with Vivian at Lead to China to design a tour hitting the spots we wanted to see: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and Summer Palace on the first day, the Great Wall and the Ming Tombs on the second. Making the tour especially challenging was the snowfall that was quite heavy at times (as well as unusual). We had to change our Great Wall destination from Mutianyu to Juyongguan at Andie's request for safety reasons. While the Wall was spectacular with the snowfall, it was difficult and dangerous to climb especially considering the age and mobility of some of the other visitors. Our driver was courteous and effective which is a must in the dog eat dog world of Beijing traffic. Lunch was taken at a local restaurant the first day (and was pretty good), and at a tourist shopping/catering complex the second (not so good). I'm sure our guide Andie would have made changes in the eating location if we requested it. Our obligatory shopping stops were at a pearl factory the first day, and a jade factory the second. We didn't purchase anything and that didn't seem to cause any problems. The shopping stops were mildly interesting especially seeing how Jade is carved, and the factories had good bathrooms. I would recommend contacting Lead to China for touring plans in the future.

We were picked up from Tiajin cruise terminal and taken to Beijing to see Tianamen Square and Forbidden city. We then chose to take the overnight sleeper train to Xi'an. We were picked up the next morning and taken to the Terracotta Army and city walls and then put back on te sleeper train back to Beigjing. The 3 rd day we went to the Great wall and then taken back to the cruise ship. Lunches were included and the places chosen by the guides were great. We had planned to go to Mutiyana section of the wall but this was chnaged that morning to a closer section of the wall. I was dissappointed by this as Alice knew our schedule from when we booked but at least we were not late back. The only issue really was that we were dropped off far to early for our trains-3 hours nearly for both which is a long time to wait. If I had known that before hand I would have asked for more in the itenary as it is not like you need those hours to check in for a flight. The train is a great insite into Chinese life but our 2 berth Delux sleeper is no luxery. If you chose this option do your research as they are no showers! The guides are very knowledgeable and the drivers are good bearing in mind the madness of China's roads. We did the 2 tourist shop stops but you learnt about local manufacturing and you are not there long so is not really an issue. This was about half the price the cruise lines were offering a similar journey so I would definately recommend if you are on a cruise ship docked in China for 1-3 day or pre and post tours.

Alice with Lead to China did a great job with our itinerary for Shanghai. Our guide Sunny and driver Mr. Dai were very efficient and flexible with our schedule and showed us all the interesting places in Shanghai including the Bund, Yuyuan Gardens which were beautiful and serene, the Shanghai world financial center which was amazing, had a Chinese lunch where we were able to try frog....interesting, and then off to an acrobatic show which was very good. Of course we did many more things, but this is just a few of the highlights. We stayed at the Salvo Hotel which was lovely and overall had a wonderful time. I would recommend them very highly. Many thanks to Lead to China!
