Our group of four was on an organised group tour through China, but our tour did not visit the Terracotta Warriors. We could not miss this bucket list site, so decided to organise our own tour.
We had one free day at Zhengzhou. We decided in Australia, before we left for China, to organise a day trip to Xian from Zhengzhou and see the Terracotta Warriors site.
We organised bullet train return tickets (2nd class), through Travel China Guides. Our consultant, Christina Zhao from Travel China Guides Booking office was extremely efficient, even helpful when we needed to change our train bookings. All emails were in English.
I found looking up train timetables very easy and our tickets were waiting at our hotel for us. Emails and tracking numbers were sent so that we could make sure our tickets would arrive on time.
Their website was also very helpful. Explaining how to read the tickets for the platform and seat number. They gave us lots of information about luggage placement etc.
The bullet train was extremely comfortable (even 2nd class seats). There was food and drinks served on the train and there was also a western toilet. The stations were unbelievably amazing and I have to say a great credit to the Chinese! A very easy journey!
Our day trip was booked through Terracotta Warriors Tour. Booking was also a very easy process. We organised a private guide and driver to pick us us from Xi’an north train station and return us back at the end of the day.
We did spend 8 hours travelling that day, but it was worth every minute. A bucket list trip, made extremely pleasant.
It was refreshingly easy to organise, travel there and have a customised private guide.
We would highly recommend this travel organisation.

Number 1 service for foreigners to book train tickets easily and reliably. They sell train tickets for the normal price plus a small service fee. Moreover, they have a 24/7 hotline with English speaking staff and are glad to help you with any question and inquiries about your train ticket, or rebookings or anything. Once they even contacted me when I bought a combination of tickets for a crowded connection that isn't allowed in the Chinese system (2 tickets from Point A to B to C with the same train) and offered me another ticket for the same connection (from Point A to C with starting point one station prior to point A).

The Travel China part was great. The tickets were booked quickly and without fuss, making it unnecessary to muddle through the China Rail website (in Chinese). However, picking the tickets up at the station was traumatic: I queued for almost an hour, so allow for that possibility when you travel.

I've just wanted to express my thanking for this agency notwithstanding I didn't used their services, actually I wanted to do it, in fact I booked a wonderful journey in China for next August.
As all we know, in these days, the situation is a little complicated, I mean about this virus that it's spreading around the world. So last year in October I booked everything with this agency (train and some excursion) all paid. Since also the situation we're living in Italy is becoming critical, today I don't feel anymore sure to do this travel and I wrote them a messege because I wished to cancel my booking.
In two days I received the refund of all I booked. This agency has proven to be the best I have ever used, higly professional, fast comunication by email and great love for their customers.
I wanted to reccomend this agency because they deserve it, it's not easy to find out someone else as them.
I hope everything will be better soon and I'll promise you that this is not a goodbye but a "see you soon " because that country has a plenty of mervellous place to visit and a very kind people to know.

I had Travel China Guide to organize a big group tour to China this last Easter time. All communication, planning, comments and advisory were just perfect. We had even made our confirmation payment ok, but due to Covid-19 we had to cancel.
Travel China Guide acted very professionally, cancelled our tour in time, made all necessary arrangements and we will plan with them in 2021.
All in all, very professional.

Maggi was a great tour guide for Tiannemen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Great Wall. She was funny, kind, and informative. The tour went mostly according to plan, and we all had time to look at the sites, take pictures, and ask questions. Maggi went out of her way to give each passenger restaurant recommendations tailored to wherever he or she was staying at the end of the tour. Highly recommend.

I had to book internal train travel for four workers from our company. The itinerary was 3 internal trains on 3 different dates, between 3 major cities for a business trip. China Travel guide and in particular Chrstina were fantastic in assisting with train bookings for foreigners. We were booking from Australia. I would highly recommend getting their assistance for any train bookings for internal travel in China. Thank you all for your assistance, including dealing with tricky payment requirements and finding the work arounds for us.

This is a review on how Travel China Guide as an online travel operator helped me plan my internal travel through China. I connected with this service after reading their excellent customer reviews and I surely wasn't let down. The clear and informative train schedule they make available on their website made it really simple to book/purchase all the desired train tickets independently. Travel Consultant Christina Zao was even very patient with my repeated requests for ticket modification before I came up with my final travel itinerary. Once the China Railway Service put the requested tickets on sale 14 days before the scheduled travel dates, she promptly secured those that were available and informed me about those that weren't, while offering me alternative options. I finally received all the 5 tickets I had booked, though with some schedule changes but which, actually, worked out even better than the original plan. I also promptly received the pending reimbursements for the tickets I had cancelled. One last request was for assistance to purchase an entrance ticket to the Forbidden City, since the tickets one can buy on the Palace Museum website were all sold out, probably due to the holiday weekend. Christina made every effort to obtain one for me. So, highly recommended, especially for a first time traveler to China, where things don't necessarily happen in the same way as elsewhere.

I booked train ticket through Travel China Guide, the services was great, they are very professional. I booked two train tickets almost one month in advance, the paperless tickets were confirmed about 2 weeks before the departure day. the checking in process at the train station was easy and efficient.

I booked various train tickets for the 6 of us to various routes, like Xining to Lanzhou, Lanzhou to Zhangye the view the multi-colour rock then onwards from Zhangye to Xining. Finally, a train service from Xining to Chaka to visit the Salk Lake Resorts and Qinghai Lake. Since June on the first M/s Christina Zhao, came to my assistance and purchased all the train tickets for me and my group. We met with numerous problems since the Xining to Zhangye train was suspended. Luck was indeed with us and the route is now open. We have to change a lot of our bookings. From 1st class seats to 2nd class seats due to high demand for 1st Class seats. To ensure securing a seat, we changed to the 2nd class seats.
With so many changes, Christina Zhao, Emily, and Sunny were kind and assisted us in every way they could the extent of work after working hours to assist me. To ensure our holiday plan goes smoothly. TravelChinaGuide is so fortunate to have such a wonderful and helpful staff in the ELITE TEAM. I was fortunate to be able to seek Christina Zhao and her colleague's assistance.
Finally, you would have no regard for booking through TravelChinaGuide and you would have a problem contacting them when a problem arises.
With so many changes, Christina Zhao, Emily, and Sunny were kind and assisted us in every way they could the extent of work after working hours to assist me. To ensure our holiday plan goes smoothly. Regarding the Beijing Mini-Group Day Tour, I couldn't my hotel in the list of options to pick up. However, we're going to stay quite near the Forbidden City (Park Plaza Hotel in Wangfujing). Could you please confirm that you can pick us up at our hotel for the tour?

Is drinking Alcohol like whisky permitted on Z series trains in China? Or is only beer allowed? And is beer available in Railway Stations in China? Looking forward to your answers. Cheers

Drinking alcohol is permitted on the trains in China. You can bring at most 6 bottles (500 ml or 17.6 fl oz in each bottle) with 50% or less vol and up to 2 bottles if over 50% vol. The bottles must be unpacked. Beers are available in railway station in China. You can also buy beers on the train. Thank you for your attention.

Hello,
I booked a train ticket from Guangzhou to Beijing for three passengers. After the seats were assigned in hard Sleeper .We received the same seat number for all three passengers.(Coach 12 Seat 22 for all passengers).Is it normal for an online booking? Will we receive different seats on our actual tickets?

Thank you for your inquiry. For hard sleeper tickets, beds will be assigned at the time of ticket booking. Each passenger will have an assigned bed code, for example Coach 12, 22Upper/middle/lower. If you are not clear about the bed code, you can contact the website you used for booking for details. Wish you a nice day!
