Pure bliss, exactly what I needed on a very cold winters day. I booked the wax and spa package followed by the moisturising marine facial. I have very sensitive and eczema prone skin and the facial was perfect! Good quality products. It was relaxing, included an arm, head and shoulder massage. The Brazilian wax was quick and additional 45 min relaxing massage was divine, firmer pressure than typical. It was nice to start and finish with tea. Really nice and relaxing atmosphere. Great friendly service and spoke English. Highly recommend!

Located in a beautiful hotel, this spa is quiet and serene, and the service is impeccable. I only get waxed here when I'm in Beijing. They use a cold wax that reduces pain and they use cold towels and a tea tree oil lotion after waxing to reduce irritation. The massages, and especially the facial massage, is amazing! Look out for some of the packages they offer on their website, sometimes they have great deals. The only complaint I have is that they don't do scrubs, due to a lack of connecting shower rooms.

Very nice environment and professional staff but didn't deliver on what I expected from the signature facial. When I arrived I filled out a form they gave me and circled the following options they offered on the form
* I have sensitive/reactive skin
* I want my skin to be clean when done
* I want to be told what's happening each step of the way
* I want to hear recommendations from the therapist.
The massage part was fine but when the facial started most of my selections were not respected. For extractions a comedone extractor was used with a lot of pressure and hurt a lot plus causes some amount of broken capillaries due to my sensitive skin (I have dermagraphic skin). The therapist did not inform me about any of the steps or what was being used, she spoke three times - "smell this", "turn over", and "we're done". One of the lotions used half way through stung my cheeks and I have no idea if that's normal. My face is irritated and red across my nose and cheeks a day after the facial. I have idiopathic rash prone skin and I have prescription topical steroids plus two anti-histamines to manage it thus it is important to me to have good clear communication with my therapist. My previous aesthetician was wonderful about this as she used to work in a dermatologist office and truly customized her services each time to helped me manage my skin and avoid issues.
Environment is lovely and tea service before and after is great. However, my skin can't tolerate it and in the end that's what counts for me. I have to find an alternative that communicates with me to help me manage my admitted difficult skin.

Kocoon SPA is a place to go to recharge and relieve, and is the only one truly holistic SPA in Beijing with a great variety of healthy lifestyle workshops. They offer not only an amazing services (pretty much everything, starting from facials and various techniques body massages to waxing), but also a community of health minded people. The service is consistently at the top level - I'm always smooth reservation process and individualized approach during the treatments.Highly recommended.

We love this SPA, it is a peaceful and comfort place, and with their elegant service, so nice. It is the best service SPA for me in Beijing City, so we went to Kocoon often after a tiring traveling for relaxing and healing. No need to say their massage service, and it is a relaxing experience not only for my body, also for my heart and brain.

Kocoon is by far my favourite boutique Spa in BJ simply because they deliver consistent quality, are passionate for what they do and are honest with their clients.
My favourite treatments at Kocoon are: the hot stone back massage, the facial and ladies...the waxing. Kocoon is by far the best place in town for waxing. They use the correct wax and aren't making you suffer with some kind of Neanderthal age waxing methods like I experienced in several pretendedly ''upscale'' places in Beijing, and finally, they are fast and efficient.
From the moment you step in you are immediately feeling relaxed and release all the tensions of the day. The therapists are very professional and speak english.
Kocoon is a whole experience, every little detail is a delight. If you are lucky, you may get to taste one of the sweet treats of the moment which will pair the beautiful teas from Maika's collection or home made conconction which she serves all year long according to the seasonal products.
Kocoon is not only a Spa, it is also a ''living space'' where you can attend several types of health related workshops: TCM, reiki, meditation, self development, tarot reading, gyro tonics, pilates, yoga with live music by the swimming pool, the list is long. There is always a workshop or event to register to and it is always innovative, fun and interesting. My only advice is just go and see for yourself! There are 2 locations, the one in Taiyue has a much bigger space and it is where all the workshops happen. The one in the Opposite house basement is smaller and booking in advance are recommended.

Kocoon is magical.. and a complete respite from the stressful energy of the city.
My daughters and I had very gorgeous facials and my husband had a fantastic massage. The women there spoke English and were warm, welcoming... and masterful.
We left feeling pampered and healed. We really didn’t want to leave:)

What a treat! Kocoon Spa is pure indulgence when I feel I need to restore myself from the Beijing city life. I usually go for the basic Kocoon massage by elementary herbology, super relaxing and makes me feel like a new man every time. The tension relief back massage is also one of my favorite. I have not tried all of the more exotic massages, but my girl friend loves them. Her favorite is the detofying hot stone massage. She also likes the more spa-like treatments like waxing and facials, so it's a bit of our couple treat on sundays...
You should know that this is a small place, not good for large groups. There are only a few masseuses so if you are in a big group, Kocoon is not your best option. If you are looking for a more intimate place, with highly qualified masseuses, go for it. Personnally I really like the teas and and food treats that the owner makes for clients, very personal touch :-)
