Colorful temple
Apr 2017 • Couples
- Peaceful and colorful temple with the numerous trees in flower during the (short) spring season in Beijing.
- Some information in English. It's possible to download an app (QR code right on display after the gate) supposed to assist you, but we did not complete registration as too much personal information were requested.
- Audio guide available at the entrance for 20 yuan + 80 yuan deposit (Chinese, English, Japanese, French...).
- Entrance is 20 yuan (tickets sold in a small barrack on the right side of the entrance). Each Wednesday, free entrance for the first 200 visitors.
- Restaurant and tea gardens open inside the temple. Food is acceptable, but more oily than food served in Beijing, overpriced.
- Be aware that the vegetarian restaurant that was inside the temple is closed.
- No photos can be taken inside the prayer rooms.
- Impressive Ginkgoes, one tree is over 900 years old!
- Far away from downtown, but worth the visit if you stay long time in Beijing.

Patch of quiet history full of beautiful trees
Sep 2016 • Solo
Nestled in the foothills of Yangtai mountain (阳台山) this quiet temple has a beautiful natural setting. Construction started on the Temple in 1068 and is a place of Buddhist worship. The Temple is home to a 900 year old ginkgo tree as well as many beautiful magnolias which create a riot of colour in Autumn. The temple is well off the tourist trail with most visitors being locals. You would only need 2 hrs to check out the temple fully which makes it is great place to start exploring the nearby scenic areas.

Although it does take a bit of time to get out there, expect about 1.5 hours of travel from Beijing central, it’s very easy just take the new number 16 subway line to Anheqiao North station (安河桥北站) and from there catch a taxi or tuktuk (about ten minutes) to the temple. All the local drivers will know where to take you if you ask for ‘da jue si’.

Peaceful and Purifying
Jul 2015 • Friends
A very good experience with its natural ambience. The fresh air at this place and its location, away from the hustle and bustle of crowded city, is its USP. Very purifying. Must visit for a small break.
