“Our 3 and 4 day Beijing Tour with BeijingDiscoveryTours was the absolute highlight of our 3 week Asian tour. Owner Jeff and his business partner Andy were fantastic to work with. Jeff helped us create the most amazing itinerary and he always responded to my emails immediately and no question was too mundane. He looked after all the small details such as arranging all our transfers, trains, flights and hotels so that everything ran as smooth as silk. The one snag one of our couples had with the train was solved promptly by Andy. We were fortunate enough to have Andy as our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable about all the sites that we visited as well as the history of the country. Since all our lunches were included Andy did all the ordering of the various dishes which allowed us to taste a variety of different cuisine and since he always joined us for the meals he was able to explain as each dish arrived at the table. He did the same with our dumpling dinner. Jeff and Andy arranged for us to visit the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu which was amazing. Andy did not just wait for us at the bottom of the stairs, he actually climbed up with us and explained what we were seeing. There were no forced shopping stops, in fact we had to request a stop at a jade factory and Andy made sure that we were buying authentic jade and helped negotiate the prices. We would recommend BeijingDiscoveryTours as the number one tour company for the ultimate personal service. Thank you Jeff and Andy for the trip of a lifetime.”

A premier touring company - Beijing Discovery Tours.
Six of us took private day tours in Shanghai, Yantai and Dalian - all organized by Jeff of Beijing Discovery Tours. He is superb - an excellent organizer who arranged everything for us including seeking our feedback and tweaking the next day’s tour to meet every request. Guides in each location spoke excellent English, were personable and knowledgeable in history, culture, art, current politics and more. Shanghai Day 1: Shanghai Museum, Yuyuan Garden, local bazaar (former French concession area), The Bund at night, Nanjing Road and a Huangpu River cruise. Shanghai Day 2 Tour: Drove to Suzhou, Nets Gardens, Hanshan Temple, Tiger Hill, and most especially Zhouzhuang Water Village and Canal boar ride. Fabulous sites, guides, drivers and transportation. In Yantai City and Dalian City tours we were equally pleased and saw a full array of sites carefully arranged for us. Lunches were included every day and entrance tickets purchased in advance to prevent delays. Jeff of Discovery Tours is THE BEST we’ve experienced in 16 years of cruising 6 star ships. He and the company are incredible.

I booked Beijing Discovery Tours on Viator for one-way transportation from Beijing City International Airport (PEK) to our hotel in downtown Beijing (Jinbao. Dongchung). The driver was waiting with a name sign as we exited the baggage pick-up/customs area. Transportation was in a clean mini-van, and other than rush hour traffic, the trip was seamless from the airport to the hotel. The driver was familiar with alternatives to the expressway and was able to avoid some of the worst traffic by traveling on a parallel access road. Excellent service.

Beijing Discovery Tours are without a doubt the reason that my family rate our Beijing holiday as one of our best. Jeff and Andy were professional throughout, from the initial enquiry, to the booking process and the tours themselves.
They took care of everything for us, airport transfers, sightseeing, restaurants, tickets to local shows and transport for the duration. Andy accompanied us as an English speaking guide and his commentary and insights were excellent.

We recently booked Beijing Discovery Tours based on the positive reviews on trip advisor, and thankfully, they were just as described by previous reviewers. We booked a car to take me and my husband, baby and toddler to the Great Wall (Mutianyu) and also pass by Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. It was a national holiday week, so the square and forbidden city were absolutely mobbed and we didn't think it would be wise to bring our two young ones there, plus we also forgot our passports in the hotel, and would not have been allowed inside the square without them (tip for everyone else), so our driver just drove us around the perimeter which was fine for us, as we will be coming back to Beijing in a future trip and will see them the next time. We then took a 1.5 hour-2 hour ride to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, which was supposed to be more scenic and less crowded as it's a bit farther away. Our car/van was very comfortable, clean, and had lots of space so that the entire family could relax there and back. Our driver was excellent and I would highly recommend using him. Just want to point out we booked the car very last minute, I think the day before, and it could not have been more smooth or easy of a process!

Jeff and Andy made sure we saw and did all we wanted to do when setting-up our itinerary, through emails with us. The arrangements they made for our overnight flight to see the Terra Cotta Warriors, in Xi'an, were excellent. Our guide for that day was very friendly and informative. She made our day in Xi'an one of the highlights of our Asian trip. Our guide for our two days in Beijing, also named Jeff, was outstanding . He spoke excellent English and was very patient, never rushing us on our tours. He even arranged for us to see the Legend of Kungfu Show, meeting us that evening, arranging transportation and tickets, when we mentioned to him that we would like to see the show.

Jeff was very prompt at answering any emails and fine tuned our tours so that everyone enjoyed them. He provided tours for Shanghai, Dalian and Beijing. His guides were always waiting for us to disembark from the ship and their English ranged from good to excellent. He switched the tours around to maximize our sightseeing enjoyment.
For Shanghai he arranged visits to cities outside of Shanghai, as all on our tour had been to Shanghai before. We went to two totally different water towns, and the one was spectacular cruising down the canal as the lanterns were being lit at sunset. He did the right amount of monasteries, markets, and boat trips. The food each day was delicious and gave us excellent examples of the cuisine in the Shanghai area.
In Dalian, the tour guide was fantastic. He adjusted the tour since nobody wanted to eat as soon as we arrived and took us to the market instead. I am glad he did it at that time, as this way we got to see the locals shopping and it was quite fascinating. He walked us through the museum and his pride in his city showed. It was a good thing he was with us, as there is no English in the museum. He took us along lover's road, entertained us with stories and made sure we all had our pictures taken as a couple on the bridge. He explained how the various conquerers of the city had made changes to the layout of the city. He got us back to the ship safely and on time. Excellent guide(Modi) and great Mongolian food.
In Beijing, we took a group tour to the Great Wall near the port at Tianjin. Again the food was excellent and the guides command of the English language was great. The guide managed to get us to the wall before the busses from the ship arrived so it was almost like we had it to ourselves for the first bit. Interesting reconstruction and was worth seeing.
We also did a private tour to Jinshanling Great Wall after we disembarked and this was probably the highlight of our tours in China. Andy the guide was excellent and arranged for a simple lunch before we climbed the wall.
