Rain was responsive to emails until a week before we were to arrive - then I couldn't get her to confirm until the day before we were leaving. We agreed on airport pickup and 2 days of guide and driver visiting multiple attractions. Airport pickup was perfect, with our driver waiting right where I expected him. The next day our guide (Emily) and driver arrive, and we get dropped at Temple of Heaven with our driver supposed to pick us up at other side where we exit. Well, I believe our driver had other errands to run so he left us there for 45 minutes waiting for him, all the time telling our guide he was 5 minutes away. Guide says our driver has a temper, and doesn't like my idea of taking a taxi to next spot (even though a hundred go right past us, she claims that they're tough to flag down). I flag one down in a second to her dismay, and as we pull away our driver (finally) arrives. After the next stop he leaves us, to be replaced by another driver. Emily claims all the spots I picked are secondary tourist destinations, and she knows nothing about them (all are in the top 10 attractions here on trip advisor), and, she doesn't think we should climb the hill at Jingshin Park to see the Forbidden City. When my wife and I still insist when she cannot dissuade us, she sends us on our own, and waits for us at the bottom. She is half my age. Next day is also a fiasco. In summary, if you can insist upon Rain, perhaps your experience will be good (I cannot say), but if she says you may have another guide - my suggestion is look elsewhere. BTW- I don't often, or without thought, write negative reviews (check my others, I've written many, and less than 5% negative), but felt I should share my experience.

I can't thank Rain enough for her service when we went to visit Beijing.. Our group of 4 was delightful to find her as our guide.. We aso rent a car from her, aside from her service to be our guide.. The car was clean, the driver drives safely (hi, Phillip!), pick up was punctual, and there were plenty of jokes being thrown in the car.. Her English is super! She was able to explain all the different stuff to us, from history to to the tradition, down to the smallest things.. Will definitely use her service again when we go to Beijing (hopefully next year) with another group of friends.. Best wishes from Indonesia, Rain! :)

Recently we spent a very interesting and exciting 5 days family tour of Beijing plus transportation around the city and to and from the railway station and airport under the arrangement of Rain. I contacted her by e-mail and Wechat and requested if she could make our visit comfortable and enjoyable one. She assured us and replied very quickly with a full amazing itinerary which included visit to all the major attractions of Beijing. As soon as we arrived Beijing we found a well briefed driver is waiting for us with a beautiful van. From that very moment we felt relaxed and comfortable throughout our visit. Rain could arrange everything we asked for. She is a real character and we enjoyed our time with her. She is knowledgeable, interesting, and jolly. She makes sure that everything you need is taken care of. Special thanks to Philips (Rain’s husband) for seeing us off at late night at Peking International Air Port. If you are thinking of visiting Beijing I would highly recommend Rain to be your tour operator.

From day one when we started chatting on Whats UP, Rain was very understanding and helpful. She was very patient with me changing our itinerary on few occasions. She did the best to accommodate for all our wishes. She was very punctual and doing things on our time not on hers. Even after the tour was over she helped us organize massages at our hotel and afterwards she checked if everything was great. Before our trip I talked to four different private guides and decided to go with Rain. There is no regrets, except for we wish we could stay longer and do more tours with her! It was a great choice! Thank you Rain!! Kris and Nave

First of all my summary – Rain is really fantastic guide and if any time I come back to Beijing, I will ask her to organise my whole stay. My whole family has the common opinion – she is the best guide we ever met. About one month before coming with my family to Beijing I sent some inquires to the guides having highest ranks (on Trip Advisor and some other portals). Rain answered quickly, her answer was not a general information but she tried to answer all my questions and her price was among the best. So I had no doubt that she had to be my family guide. We exchanged a few e-mails to decide some details of the tour (we agreed on one day tour to the Great Wall and Summer Palace). The day before the tour Rain called to our hotel to confirm some details. Of course, she was very punctual, she came to our hotel before the agreed time. And during the tour she provided a lot of information on the places we went through and the places we visited. She listened about our wishes and interests and as a consequence proposed to add additional items to the route (no changes in the price). But everything was really flexible – so she just proposed trying to describe what we can see (no pressure). We decided additionally to visit Tea House, Chinese handicraft company, silk company. She told us about Kung-fu show and Acrobatic Show – again no pressure, just information about evening possibilities. As we asked her to book tickets for Kung-fu, we spent with Rain 13 hours in total – from 8 am till 9 pm when she dropped us to the hotel. Next day, additionally I sent her SMS asking about airport transfer. And she arranged everything just on the base of SMS exchanges (my e-mail box didn’t work in Beijing). Rain is very well organized, she really thinks about tourists expectations and tries to meet them. She has a lot of knowledge. And very important – she is the person full of energy, initiative, humor, all the time smiling, having natural ability to establish contact in very easy manner. Within a few minutes she established fantastic relations with my daughters. And for one of them the Great Wall part of the tour was a great challenge and big effort – but with Rain she walked almost without any stop. No possibility to do it if she would walk with us (parents). I really recommend Rain for families with children – even if children don’t speak English it would be no problem for her to have fantastic relation with children. One of my daughter’s English is rather poor but it was really not a problem. Finally a few remarks about guides in Beijing. When traveling abroad my family tries to see visited city also from its citizens side – so we travel using city public transport. In Beijing public transport is not the best option, especially if your time is limited. We tried few times to catch a taxi but without success. Metro stations are crowded – the queue at the entrance (security control, tickets office), often no escalators – so it is necessary to walk up and down the stairs, no seats at the platform). And very hot in summer. If I would go to Beijing again just for 3 days, I would surely take the guide for the whole stay. And if you take the authorized guide (Rain has an authorization) – she has free access to all visited places, so you don’t pay additional tickets.
