It’s the smallest of the Three Great Halls of the Outer Court on the central axis of the Forbidden City. It’s a square structure like a pavilion with a gilded pinnacle on a single-eaves roof. It’s located between the Hall of Great Harmony and the Hall of Preserving Harmony. Why is it so small compared to the other two? It’s a kind of Chinese architectural style to avoid monotony.
It was interesting to know that the emperor used to rest in this hall, when he was on his way to hold ceremonies in the Hall of Great harmony.

You won't miss the Hall of Middle Harmony. It's in the middle line of the city. It's said that it's the sleeping site for the emperor.

It is located between the Hall of Supreme Harmony 太和殿 and the Hall of Preserving Harmony 保和殿. It is a square building where the emperor would do his preparations before presiding over ceremonies in the Hall of Supreme Harmony. This hall is the smallest of the three main halls in the outer court of the Forbidden City. Hence, I just had a brief visit, took some photos and proceed to the next hall.

This is the smallest of the large halls located in the center of the Forbidden City. Similar to the other Palaces/Halls in the Forbidden City, worth stopping at and reading the information sign. Be prepared to battle crowds.

This relatively small, square hall is located between the Hall of Supreme Harmony and the Hall of Preserving Harmony and is the smallest of the three halls. This hall served as the emperor's rehearsal room where he would practice speeches or rest before ceremonies and presentations. There is a throne in the centre of the room with a golden unicorn on either side that you can view from the doorway.

Harmoniously designed in the same general yet grand style of the buildings and pavilions of the Forbidden City, this relatively small (I'm using rather loosely here) hall is the smallest of the three found in the Outer Courtyard. It's rather bare in content with a throne positioned in the centre, once used to allow the emperor some respite when attending ceremonies in either he Halls of Supreme Harmony or Preserved Harmony. A short visit should suffice before moving on to other parts of the palace grounds or nearby exhibition galleries.

Located in the Forbidden City, this is the smallest hall in the outer court. This was the place where the Emperor rests while waiting to hold ceremonies in the Hall of Supreme Harmony.

The architecture and attention to detail is stunning, but there are so many similar buildings in the Forbidden City that this one gets lost in the noise.
