It is an interesting piece of history to be in this space - surrounded by Mao and Stalin statues. A walk through on your way to Tiananmen Square is easy to work in)

An ancient city with an interesting history, to appreciate it fully you really do need a guide to take you on a tour. Fantastic.

This is just the entrance; the great stuff is inside and can be seen from the north side temple even better! Climb the hill across the street for the best views.

This is the entrance to Forbidden City, beautiful and emotional to walk through it. I love ancient architecture and Beijing has a lot to offer in this regard.

Huge crowds with long lines to get in. Uneven surface and very noisy. Needs repair and better signage in English.
