Fangjia hutong locate very to close Lama temple, there is a plenty of very nice bars and small coffee shop and what is very affordable, it is rather quiet to compare Lama temple area. Small con is that there is more foreigners than locals.

This ancient hutong is near Yonghegong Lama Temple and the Confucius Temple. It has retained the charm and culture of traditional Beijing with its new restaurants and hidden bars and quirky fashion stores and boutiques. A nice area to explore and relax with some nice drinks and music in the many bars in the area.

Located between the bell tower area and the lamas temple, this hutong is nice with some beautiful siheyuans for kindergarten and primary schools. Easy to find Belgium beer shops and bars as well as lounge bar and restaurants (guizhou or Yunnan specialties).

Fangjia hutong has a great number of lovely bars and restaurants. Wide selection of hidden bars, more visible ones, Chinese and Western restaurants.

The hutong that is parallel to the main road north from this one is fat more interesting.

This is basically run down houses, and if you walk around Beijing you will come across many others like this one

Not worth seeing detour at all

One of the latest victims of the Beijing authorities decision to clean up the cities hutongs. Nobody seems to really know the full rationale behind it - is it to close down illegal structures or a more perverse plan to rid the city of corrupting western influences? Either way while you can still walk down this hutong many of the businesses, shops, bars and restaurants in particular have either been bricked up or are in the process of being so.

Fangjia hutong represents Beijing 2016-2017: coolest new bars and tiny cozy restaurants appear to this area. Big recommendation!
