Of everything you could spend money on in Beijing, Maggie's guided tour was the smartest choice we took. She is knowledgeable, very helpful and have exceptional English skills. We hired her as our guide for a day and a half, where we we had one day on the wall and one day she came shopping with us. The first day she met us early in our hotel with a private car and a really good driver. We felt very safe in the Beijing traffic-madness. Maggie learned a lot about China's history and modern culture. We learned a lot! The second day she joined us to the Muxiyuan Fabric Market, an area where very few speak English. After hours of seaching we found what we were looking for. We made a good deal with new upholstery fabrics for our sofa. Maggie organized so that the fabric we bought was sent directly from the factory to the airport the day we were flying back to Norway. She gave us an additional service as we head had not expected that she would do for us. All together we felt like we made a good friend and we will defently contact her on our next trip ti China. We highly recommand Maggies guided tour!

We were so glad to have such a dependable and pleasant tour guide after finding her off of TripAdvisor. Maggie was professional and communication of our itinerary was done with ease via e-mail. The driver she worked with was also friendly, had a comfortable car, and was helpful. Most convenient was that the tour was flexible depending on what we wanted to do the day of. No need to do the shopping tours that are required with tour companies, though I requested a stop by a cloisonné factory because I was looking for something. Maggie was able to find the factory on the spot and take us there. Would definitely recommend touring with Maggie!

We booked Maggie for a day and a half in Beijing. We wanted a local, English-speaking guide to get us efficiently around town and to explain some of the history and meanings behind the places visited. We hit the jackpot! Not only is her English fantastic, but she is a wealth of knowledge on the sites. She tied them into different eras in Chinese history and explained the cultural context, when needed. We took advantage of our travel time between sites to ask her many questions on a wide variety of other cultural topics, from: Why all these red lanterns? To: How does a marriage ceremony work? She had great answers ready for us! Cheerful, pleasant and punctual, Maggie followed the itinerary that we had requested, varying the pace to match our interests. We wanted not to eat in places geared for tourists and she led us to lunch at a 250 year old restaurant in the Hutong area. It was clean, had a great view, attentive service, reasonable prices and delicious food - just like we requested. AND no Westerners. We had done some research on a great dinner place for Peking duck, but she tipped us off to another place, said to be better. It was not only better, it was unforgettable: the ambiance, the perfect service, the light and varied dishes. The chef won awards from local magazines, as well as Food & Wine. She called and got us a reservation for the same night. We ate like kings! As a tour guide, she sometimes can access tickets to things at a lower cost. We told her we were planning on going to the Kung Fu show and she was able to use her connections to get us super tickets at something like 1/3 discount. [By the way, I give the show two stars, but Maggie gets 5 stars, for going out of her way to help us.] For what we wanted to see on the full day, it made more sense for us to take the subway or the bus, so we did that. For the half day, a private car and driver made more sense, so Maggie arranged for a nice one. She can get different sizes of car (all at reasonable prices), depending on your group's size. We were only 2 people, so we took a smaller one. Maggie helped us be efficient with our time, get the most from our touring, avoid hassles and stresses of transportation and figuring out exactly what we were looking at in the sites visited. Maggie is not one of those loud, annoying tour group leaders with a megaphone and a flag held high. For a reasonable fee, Maggie will smilingly and discretely guide your small group to (and through) the sights in your very own, customized itinerary. We wish Maggie could be in all of the cities that we visited in China! You won't be disappointed that you booked with her.

My husband and I spent 4 full days with Maggie exploring Beijing in the end April 2014. Prior to our tip to China, Maggie and I communicated constantly. She always responded immediately and we couldn't wait to meet her. Even after I thought I had a perfect itinerary my husband and I wanted to make some changes. It was never a problem for Maggie. She showed us everything and gave us just the right amount of information without being too much. We had a fabulous experience thanks to Maggie.
