Morning Mubus Tour to the Mutianyu Great Wall

894 reviews
The Great Wall of China is an ancient fortification, more than 13,000 miles (21,000 kilometers) in length—it’s also China’s top attraction. Parts of the wall are in poor condition or else crowded with visitors. But, on this guided tour, you get to visit the quieter, under-the-radar Mutianyu section, which has also undergone a complete restoration.

It was a nice walk in the fall weather, while they have some minor attractions it is the nice stroll which makes this a relaxing walk.

This park is situated a 5 minute walk from the Metropark Lido Hotel , Crowne Plaza Lido and the beautiful Nuo hotel. It is not huge but big enough to let you walk for over an hour. There is a circular path where you can also jog as did many other people there (not a single foreigner tourist and not crowded at all). There are also many other sport playgrounds there where you can play tennis, soccer and of course table tennis, yes you can do all these in this park. Just don't confound this park with the much smaller park adjoining the Eudora Station pub and which is closer to the above mentioned hotels. Both have beautiful ponds, trees (weeping willows), flowers, ducks and paths but the Side Park is much bigger and more interesting. We walked there after a tiring days and it was the perfect closure after a fulfilling touring day in Beijing. Yes, it is the perfect place for those who want to enjoy a quiet walk between trees and ponds, along the lotus flowers or jog if you still have some stamina (and if your hotel is close...you know, to shower). Just look at the pictures I have attached (as I always do) so you can understand what I mean. Bottom line a quiet and refreshing place where you can refill your batteries after a long and tiring touring day.

Enclosed by a circular walking/jogging path, this charming park has just about everything one could want -- including a small lake, ping pong tables, tennis courts, soccer fields, beautiful landscaping, an amazing playground with amusement rides, etc. Probably not worth a special trip, but....... if you are staying/dining in the area -- especially if you are traveling with children -- then do check out Si'De Park.

If you are near, it's worth a visit to this free public park. There are tracks to run/walk on, a lake, skating ring, places to exercise or just relax. There are lots of nice trees, birds, etc. Even has soccer fields and tennis courts. If you are staying in this area it is worth the visit to this park.
