Me & my wife together with 6 others were recently on a 8 days Shanghai/ Nanjing package from 24 Dec 2015-31 Dec 2015. , it was a total disaster where we were being brought to "yu bao ge" (jade house) where we were gathered in a room, a girl came in to do an introduction on jades & its origin, she later mentioned a manager ( specialist) will be talking to us more about jade history & how to differentiate between fakes & genuines. A while later this well dressed young lady came in..obviously appearing to be very nervous but polite..introducing herself as the manager & daughter of the owner. She gave us an impression that she is new with not much confident in presentation but went on to present the products..she mentioned that coz she is new therefore seek our support & wanted us to show the rest of their staff that she had done a good presentation by applausing to her at the moment she opens the door, she often claim we are a bunch of "nice Singaporeans" compared to a previous group of PRCs. We were shown around & were brought into a "vip showroom" claiming its meant for only "vips & government officials". In there, we were introduced to many types of jades namely some jade bracelets & pendants that cost tens of thousands of dollars, she even gave 2 jade rings to 2 of our group in appreciation for being patient with her presentation. She was willing to slash prices from tens of thousands to few thousands making it too good to be true. We were all so excited & were blinded. We ended up buying few of the chinese horoscope jade pendant with a slashed price from 6,000 rmb to 1,500 rmb..worst is..few of our group ended up paying for a set of 12 horoscope pendant for 2,500 rmb( slashed from 60 rmb) & bracelet at 10,000 rmb ( slashed from 50 rmb) upon leaving the premises , we noticed the reciept were not printed with the establishment's actual name but we were too blinded & gave them the benefit of doubts..but later when we return to Singapore & found few similar cases reported online, the steps taken to lure us in were exactly similar to what we gone through.

David did an outstanding job as our guide and was extremely knowledgable! He answered all of my questions and we had great conversations about the attractions - Tian an Men Square, The Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven!

We traveled with our 4 year old son, and David was wonderful and understanding of areas that would work best with him. We had a great time and enjoyed the tour as well as the food at the places that David took us too. He was very informative and explained a lot of the history behind everything! We really enjoyed this tour!!

My husband and I, along with our teenage daughter and two of her friends, traveled in Beijing with David. This was not our first time in Beijing, so we relied on David to show us some sites that were not as well known as those we had toured on our earlier visits. The highlight of our trip was volunteering for a few hours at a drop-in center for disabled adults. It was our daughter's birthday and, in the evening, David arranged a cake and birthday celebration! David is a very knowledgeable and personable guide and we heartily recommend him to anyone who wants to see the real Beijing.
