I definitely recommend Bespoke Travel. The interaction I had with Norah prior to our departure was super straight forward, professional and easy. Our guide, Ariel, and our driver were excellent! Ariel accommodated the day as it was a bit cold and we very much enjoyed the tour.

Shanghai is an easy city to walk around and a day tour in the beginning is very useful so you understand your way around. It is important, though, to have the right assistance and Bespoke Travel made difference to us.

Thank you Norah and Ariel to deliver a great experience to us!

Long March hiking tour in Yunnan. Several days hiking and rafting in Yunnan organised by Bespoke Beijing. Incredible scenery. Weather not bad considering July is normally quite wet here. Staying under canvas, but first and last nights in comfortable hotels. Jimmy and YangXiao were excellent guides and hosts. Fun and interesting hiking partners. Informative and atmospheric contextual talks by Long March (and of course Great Wall) veteran William Lindsay. Highly recommended!

We traveled to China because my husband had a business meeting in Shanghai. Since it was my first time to the country, we decided to extend our trip to both Beijing and Xi’an. Bespoke was helpful every step of the way, from providing knowledgeable guides, to hotel recommendations and car services, to purchasing train tickets and more!! The process was seamless. Their website is full of useful information! Highly recommend the Bespoke travel team and will use them for future trips!

My friends and I were visiting Tokyo, and had an enlightening tour with Patrick, who served as an incredibly knowledgeable expat ambassador to Japan. We learned so much about ancient Japan, as well as about Japan of today. Highlight of our trip, highly recommended!

We rated this company 5 stars because of how Amanda the guide handled sudden changes in the arrangements through no one's fault. The guide used the driving time to execute the changes so there was no stress on us. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and made the most of our half day tour. It all worked perfectly.

Alexandra helped us organize a private tour to the Jinshanling section of the Great Wall and to the Hutong's in Beijing. Both trips were incredible and so unique. We had no idea what to expect going to the Great Wall but knew we wanted to get away from the touristy areas, Jinshanling was just that! We saw about 5 other people during our 3 hour adventure walking along the wall. The mountains in the area were beautiful and our guide Colin and driver were both wonderful and Colin was able to answer our many questions about China and the wall. I would say this trip is a must do!

We added on the Hutong tour at the last minute and spent a morning touring the Hutong's and learning about the history of old Beijing and seeing a neighborhood market, a family's home, and taking a rickshaw ride. This was another very unique adventure that if you have the time, I would recommend adding on to your Beijing trip.

we did three tours with bespoke: hutong, great wall and 798 art district. while we didn't have bad experience, I'm not sure that Bespoke is deserving of the rave reviews it has received here.
Great Wall - our guide spoke excellent english; however the fact that he didn't have any special insigh or knowledge about the wall didn't add to his language ability (we knew as much as he did after just reading the sections on lonely planet). Not sure that the almost $300 we paid for this guide to trek along the wall was worth it. The lunch in a "village home" was a local hostel with "C-rated" for hygiene by the government - a poster which I presume they are mandated to display. So our expectation of having a local experience was not met here - they should just advertise it as eating in a local restaurant/hostel not eating in someone's home to get a unique experience.

Hutong - this was definitely worth having the guide. unlike the great wall tour, the guide (Frank) who lived in the village his whole life was amazingly informative and even knew all the people within the village and the history, traditions of China. His english was flawless.

798 - overall, this was very well-done. the guide was knowledgeable having worked in one of the galleries for a number of years. however, this non-chinese guide, while she obviously spoke mandarin to get by, I felt her mandarin language/translating skills were probably sorely lacking. one of the perks of a private art tour (not cheap!) is having an opportunity to meet with a local artist. And when what my questions and comments for the artist and his work are not able to be translated, the whole experience becomes somewhat pointless.

Overall, the agency had friendly and capable staff and guides. But on the great wall, I would try to go with another specialty agency (Bespoke was our second choice for this anyway bc our first choice tour company was all booked).

I have worked in the luxury hospitality business for over 15 years, have traveled all over the world, and always do extensive research to seek out the best. There is no company better than Bespoke. We worked with Sam on a trip to Beijing and Shanghai. You could not ask for a better private travel planner. Sam is professional, smart, savvy, reliable, and an all-around pleasure to work with.

Each city's guide and driver provided the optimal tailored experience in each city based on our interests. Also, the guides were extremely knowledgeable and flexible.

I will absolutely use Bespoke on my next trip to China. I hope they expand to other countries!

Thank you Sam and Bespoke!

With Bespoke the planning of your tours start before you get to Beijing, Wanxia called me to Mexico to offer tips and insight so we could choose the tours that better suited us. We chose an all day tour of the city highlights and the street snacks tour and the story of communism as well. Frank was the guide for the highlights and communism tour. A very knowledgable man and very open and patient who guided us through the sights in Beijing's searing summer days. It was Frank who explained the history behind the Forbidden City, Tianamen and the Temple of Heaven or how the Chinese Comunist Pary started in Peking's Univesity cradle of the May 4th protests. The street snack tour was guided by Kristen, a very knowledgable young Chinese American woman who runs her own food blog and who will guide you through the maze of street delicacies sprinkled with hutong history offered in Beijing. The snack tour is designed not to shock you with fried bugs or scorpions but to entice you with delicacies whose origins may lie in the ancient past or in distant regions and have become everyday fare in the market streets of Beijing.
Bespoke's tours are costly but they are designed only for your party and the guides will never suggest a visit to the jewelry factory or the carpet seller or anything of the kind. This is a serious professional company providing services for high end travelers, so expect to be billed like one.

If you are traveling to Beijing with your family, I can't recommend enough the customized tours from Bespoke. I brought my husband and three kids, all first timers to Asia, to Beijing and I knew that we would want a really fun, interesting experiential time so a friend recommended Bespoke. I told them our interests and they created a great tour for a day which started with a family kung fu lesson at the Temple of Heaven. My 3 kids, ages 14, 12 & 9 loved it, and then we walked through the amazing park. We then went to a fabulous dumpling place for lunch where we met our afternoon guide, Frank, who took us on rickshaw rides through the Hutong, a visit to the Drum Tower where we saw their amazing drum show and saw views of all of the city, then to visit a famous cricket trainer...my kids and we loved every second. Thanks Bespoke for giving us memories of a lifetime!
