Morning Mubus Tour to the Mutianyu Great Wall

894 reviews
The Great Wall of China is an ancient fortification, more than 13,000 miles (21,000 kilometers) in length—it’s also China’s top attraction. Parts of the wall are in poor condition or else crowded with visitors. But, on this guided tour, you get to visit the quieter, under-the-radar Mutianyu section, which has also undergone a complete restoration.

It's located within the zoo, so you must first purchase zoo entrance tickets. Then separate entrance tickets at the aquarium. There are lots of souvenirs, food, drinks, toilets here. Pretty nice displays. There is a marine mammal show. I missed most of it, caught end. Looked entertaining. Go for this for sure. The fossils were neat. Overall pretty clean but one word sums up the displays...overcrowded.

The aquarium is in good condition and has a very nice ambiance. The jellyfish displays were very interesting. The sharks and belugas were the highlights. The place was not crowded at all. We did find it a little bit on the expensive side. If you have visited large aquariums before, maybe you can skip this visit.

It has a great fish, reef wildlife and jellyfish collection. It also has some sharks and dolphins. We had a great time there. I'm giving it three stars because I found it too expensive. It costs about 160RMB to get in, which is roughly around $25. If you have visited big aquariums before, maybe you could give another use to that money, specially if you're traveling on a budget.

The Beijing aquarium is a large facility with many fascinating exhibits of aquatic life. For me one of the most interesting were the jelly fish displays. According to another person in our party, the aquarium is showing some signs of wear & tear. In some exhibits, according to him, large specimens have apparently died and not been replaced. Most egregious, however, was the beluga whale exhibit that houses two whales. The space these whales have is far too small and utterly inhumane. This appalling situation is the main reason I cannot give the Beijing Aquarium a higher rating that 'Poor'. The day we were there the place was mobbed and crowded in a way that seriously detracted from our enjoyment. Granted, we were there on one day of the Chinese National week vacation.
