The whole place was amazing. As advised by several reviews on tripadvisor, this side of the great wall of china is quite friendly for kids. First you enter and buy tickets on the left. If you bring kids, I suggest you bought tickets for entrance, transit bus, and: 1. If your kids are toddlers, I think you should also buy... More

Definitely, worth seeing when you go to Beijing and definitely the best spot to go. There are fewer people throughout the year at this location and you can explore beyond the Wall into the actual mountains. I've been twice, both during peak seasons, and this section as almost empty.

It is such an impressive monument!! built by the Chinese in order to repel the Mongolians and the Hans. Well preserved, we walked a tiny part of it today in the morning heat of 32 degrees. Surrounded by dense vegetation it would have still been a wonder, had it not been for the pollution. The sky was not blue but... More

Go early. We hired a driver to take us to the car park. We arrived at 8-30am and used the cable car. We were some of the first walkers on the wall. We have pictures of an empty wall. We did the 2 kms to Tower 20 and back. As it was very hot we were pleased to be finishing... More

I cannot recommend the Great Wall enough, and Mutianyu is the perfect place to marvel at it. Compared to many tourist spots in Beijing, there were not too many crowds which made it relaxed and enjoyable. We took the cable car up to the top where the views were completely breathtaking - it became clear as to why it is... More

My wife and I had a really enjoyable day at the Great Wall. We took a limo from the Vision Hotel and an hour later we were at the Great Wall. The price was about 140 yuan per person for the entrance tickets and cable car ride to the top, which was short but enjoyable. This is the most scenic... More

We were really happy to have had clear blue skies. And a bonus - not overcrowded, so there were clear shots of us at the wall, with absolutely NO ONE in the background! Made it seem like we owned the place :) Sled ride was a big hit with the kids who wanted to do it over again. Restaurant at... More
