Very good for a night walk

We have been there with our kids. It is a popular site for a night walk. Too many bars, cafe and very crowded. It is a must see in the city.

I liked walking around this area. It was busy with many people. Men were swimming (even though they weren't supposed to haha) and there were people out at bars and restaurants.

Very nice area to walk during the day, or to drink something something while enjoying the views during the evening.

This is a very area to just stroll around. You will see men and women offering massages on a wooden stool for RMB20 for 20 minutes. Totally worth it. Lots of restaurants and shops around. Highly recommend you to visit. Next to a few hutongs and not far from the Lama Temple.

I visited at around 10am and although there was a lot of hustle and bustle around the main parts (which in itself was interesting), the majority of the pathway around the lakes was calm and peaceful! It would be very easy to pack a book and a picnic and find a nice bench away from the crowds to enjoy the... More

If you are looking for some nightlife, this is the place. Many bars and restaurants and some good shopping. A must to go in your evening.

The area next to the Hou hai lake is packed with people, restaurants, bars, live music, night-open shops,...simply the Rhodes or Fuenguirola of Beijing! But if you have time, go visit because it is the Chinese version so different. And great watching fun.

No joke, they have two menus in most of the restaurants and bars, one for tourist and one for locals. You can guess which one is double and triple price. Nice place to look around, but they are so greedy they gouge tourist too harshly for any repeat patronage.
