This is a very beautiful park to enjoy relaxing scenic views both in the spribg blossom time, and in the fall with its splendor of autumn colours.

I went to this park during spring and the many cherry blossoms in the park are blossoming. It was my first time to see cherry blossoms and they were quite a sight to behold. This park has a lot of local tourists enjoying the sights too. So I think it is best to go here early in the morning when there are less people. When we went there, there were ladies dancing in the park.

I LOVE this park. It's one of the best parts of our Beijing tour. We came during Spring but missed the Cherry Blossoms by a week! Nonetheless, the park itself was gorgeous. It's exactly how I imagine Chinese parks would look like. There weren't a lot of foreign tourists, just everyday locals going about their business. If you want to catch a glimpse of what the locals do, this is the perfect place to do it. I saw all kinds of exercises and Chinese instruments being played and Chinese games. It was awesome! If you have time to spare, I'd recommend just hanging out here and taking in the scenery. The park is huge so if you don't have more than 2 hours to spare, I wouldn't recommend going here.

This review is aimed at expats in Beijing. Locals all know Yuyuantan Park well. For tourists, don’t visit this park, it’s just not that special with only a few notable historic sites compared to say Temple of Sun Park (Ritan) or Tenple of Heaven Park (Tiantan). Those are great for tourist sites.

This park is beautiful tho, and unlike many others in Beijing can be a good jogging track as the pavements are wide enough. The entire loop probably about 1.8km. So not long, but good enough to jog there, enjoy the scenery and jog on.

2rmb ticket price entry fee. The park is famous for autumn colour and a spring cherry festival. These are nice but crowded with Beijinggers on those days.

My tip. It’s is a joggers park or a nice place to go for a walk in any season for folk who live in Beijing. Easy to drive to. Easy to subway to. Best station is Military Museum Station, Exit A. Five minutes walk past the Millienium Monument and you’re at the Sth Gate.

Spent around 2 hour walking around this the tranquil Yuyuantan (玉渊潭). Great place for a picnic or to relax. The main draw to this place would be the cherry blossoms which we unfortunately missed (come end of March / early April) but never-the-less its still a nice walk along the lake. Entrance fee was 10CNY I believe and closes during the evening.

Getting to this place is a bit of a walk from one of the many not-so-nearby subway stations; we walked north from the Military Museum (军事博物院) subway station.

I spent a morning wandering around the lake and gardens after visiting the nearby military museum. It makes for a lovely oasis in the city and a great spot to relax. Also very close to the CCTV tower which has a fantastic outdoor viewing platform.

Spring time is a great time to visit and even have a picnic. Winter's Frozen lake can be explored on foot or a local "seats on sleds". You uses two sticks to navigate

This park is famous for its cherry blossoms in the spring (March/April) but it looked like such a big green space on a map that we decided to visit anyway even though the cherry blossoms had long come and gone. The park is easily accessed by subway with the Military Museum station (line 1) close by. The lakes dominate the park and offer a peaceful, but not quiet, setting. You can expect that there will be multitude of activities taking place in the park. We saw badminton, volleyball, square dancing, ribbon dancing, tai chi, kung fu, opera, and musical ensembles ranging from a few instruments to what seemed like a full orchestra with choir. Admission is a nominal 2 RMB. A great way to spend a few hours away from the hustle-bustle of the big city.

Traveling in Beijing on the subway was extremely easy. This park was close to the station and easy to find. It was so peaceful and serene in stark contest to the environment outside the park. If I had of gone to the Park two weeks earlier I think it would of had a increase visual effect as I missed most of the Spring Blossom, but there still was a magnificent display of spring bulbs and annuals. I only had three hours in the park but it would be easy to spend many more hours. There was typical little food stalls set up and most the of food was cheap-I didnt eat there though so cant comment on its flavour. There were llittle park benches to sit on and enjoy the ambience of the surrounding environment. The lakes were pretty. There were men driving carts around to help those with sore feet!! Its worth the effort. I cant remember if I paid money to enter or not but most attractions in Beijing were't expensive.

Amazing landscape. Perfect place to chill out and read a book.

Also, if you have a chance take the boat from the park that goes all the way to the Summer Palace
