We was fortunate to experience the drum ceremony and it was breathtaking. Wow. This is by far, one of the best experiences in Beijing. However be aware of the very steep stairs.

The facing bell and drum towers are two impressive structures close to the famous Houhai restaurant and lake area. Hundreds of years old, they are some of the few remains of old Beijing. I never made it to the museums, but if you're heading to...More

The two towers look at each other across a small square. They were the timekeepers of old Peking. One has the ancient town bell and the other's drums sounded the hours. Drums play at various times during the day. Very very steep stairs to the...More

The drum tower show is an interesting attraction to see, as well as the bell tower which is opposite to the drum tower. Both towers are land marks. But... in the bell tower ground floor there is a tea house show & shop.., be very...More

The steps are steep but the climb is rewarding. Plan your trip to coincide with a drumming performance and enjoy both the view and the drums.

It's the Wandering Yank here. I had a free afternoon in Beijing during my business trip, and friends recommended the Hutong area north of the Forbidden City. Since the 2 towers (hmmm...Lord of the Rings reference) are nearby, and my Lonely Planet guidebook highly recommends...More

After the bustle of the Forbidden City these sites made a nice quiet change especially when approached via the neighbourhood walk in the Lonely Planet guide. There is a short drum performance in the Drum Tower at half past the hour (not 12.30). Worth making...More

A walk through the Hutong Neighborhood through the public square that amalgamated the Drum and the Bell Tower is an experience. The forgotten alleys, the public toilets, the division of imperial homes after the revolution... you need to walk the talk.. the photographs speak a...More

Good legs needed for the Bell Tower, worth the climb and to see the panels on how the bell was cast. Excellent views over the city

Worth seeing from outside but view great. I listened to the drums from the bottom of the stairs which you have to pay for. You can't really hear them from further. The steps are amazingly steep!

There are a handful of western eateries, but, the signs are in Chinese and run by locals, so, you might not get ze correct taste. Personally, I wont even walk into the big M. Hope you find what you are looking for.

Если я помню, каждые 2 часа, начиная с 10 часов утра? Но не уверен, где будет листинг времени. Если вы пойдете в середине дня, все будет хорошо
