Start to finish- the show was truly spectacular! Between the live peacocks, the flood, trampoline jumpers, and the costumes, just everything was fantastic. I would highly recommend seeing it if you're in Beijing, and being only an hour its easy to fit into the schedule....More

I really enjoyed watching this show. This is solely a dance performance set to great original music with great costumes. This show is not comparable to an opera, a Broadway show or a play as there is no singing or acting. It is a different...More

This show is so BORING. It is a huge cast with nice costumes but all they do is move around the stage to music. No singing, no talking, just moving around with synchronized hand and arm movements with lots of costume changes. There was an...More

We enjoyed the show but the absolute best part was our tour guide Cathy. She was super helpful, accommodating, attentive, and very conscientious. She went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of. I totally recommend the show.

An interpretation of events from thousands of years ago is spectacular and grandiose. So inspiring was this show our 12yr old son couldn't take his eyes of the stage. Definately worth the effort, the on stage water scene's are fantastic.

A short, very dramatic musical show with English subtitles. Spectacular costumes and stage management. A very colourful look at Chinese mythical storytelling. We enjoyed it very much.

Help Family of 6 itinerary 4 day (Food/locations/logistics) (14 Replies)
We will be in Beijing for 4 full days and I am looking for any help/feedback planning our trip. Our children are all under the age of 10. I have a general idea of what we want to see and places we would like to eat, but I would really appreciate anyone helping with suggestions that work great for a family. We will be staying in a Hutong close to the drum tower. Day 1: Take it easy..scavenger hunt in the Houhai lake area, rent a boat or bike with the kids, Hutong tour. What should we do in...More

Hi, Thats a lot of questions:-) You would be better to break your questions up and repost into different topics. You will receive more answers. As in: "Please check our itinerary", "Help with interesting things for kids" etc. When you get your itinerary sorted, post about your restaurant choices. Annie

Well, some of these things are worth doing but whether it's better to go with the tour extra or do it yourself if the time block option is for "free time" if you don't take the extras, might depend on price. My thoughts (also being a middle-aged woman)-- 1) Beijing hutong tour, lunch with family, Summer Palace. S.P is definitely worth seeing, exploring the hutongs is good but pedicab is a "fun" thing whereas on foot is just as good though more physical. The lunch with family is staged. This...More

You say he is value for money. But you only listed the values, not the money. If you recommend him, also give insight in the costs, else it is merely advertising. Also you spend one day using his services. So I guess it is hard for you to judge his knowledge in general about the city.
