Fiona was more than magnificent during my one day private tour with her in Beijing
She not only speaks very good English but is also very patient and most knowledgeable in history and contemporary Beijing
With Fiona I had the chance to see the city as a local citizen once she suggested we use the metro and public busses (I did not want to rent a car with driver or use Taxis)
Furthermore she went out of her way to satisfy my every need including letting me, upon my request, eat at a local "hot pot" restaurant where only Chinese people eat (and naturally no one speaks any English)
Since you must choose the right person to guide you through the city when visiting Beijing I more than strongly recommend Fiona and will be sure to use her again in the future and send everyone I know to her while visiting Beijing

we have just returned from our trip to Beijing. We really had a good time in Beijing. The choice of the hotel was excellent, and the choice of the tour guide was awesome.Fiona was the guide we chose for our three days 'trip to Beijing.Luckily,we selected her as our guide. She is such a helpful guide and the trip was well -organized.She showed us the Great Wall ,Ming Tomb, the Forbidden City etc,and also some other wonderful places with fewer visitors ,such as the Price Yong's Mansion, the Hutong area and Ethnic Garden. That's just a fabulous tour .we had so much fun.It was really an unforgettable time that we stayed together with Fiona. Highly recommend Fiona to any of you who want to make a tour to Beijing. She is excellent .

We engaged Fiona as our local tour guide to Beijing in late October 2013.
Communication with her to plan out an itinerary for us was smooth n quick. She provided valuable inputs and suggestions.

We were intrigued with the rich history of China, the different dynasties and the many emperors n their conquests, defeats, contributions, we asked Fiona many questions and repeated the same questions to clear doubts and probed further. She was utterly patient, trying her best to provide an answer whenever possible n promised to research further if she didnt know at hand and always with a smile.

Fiona is very professional, she was always punctual.
Bubbly and always ready with a smile, she took us onto a historical walk into the palaces, the courtyards, the great wall of China, and made history come alive(at least for me). She also brought us to eateries frequented by the locals and enjoyed her recommendations.

On our visit to Forbidden City, we witnessed the Xinjiang car bombing.
Fiona was very alert and quick to steer us away from the incident. Anticipating road n station closures and to avoid the large crowd, she quickly took us to the nearest bus station to our next destination.

Sensing our disappointment at not being able to visit the Forbidden City, she offered to take us back to the Forbidden City when it reopened, for free, even though it was our last day with her. We really appreciate her gesture.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with her and recommend her highly for your tour.

Fiona was amazing! Starting with her initial reply to me which was very prompt, she was a pleasure to deal with. She was very flexible in tailoring a trip to exactly what I wanted to see. As I was traveling by myself and with a sore back, she was attentive to always making sure we had enough rest time to relax.

Her detailed explanations were insightful and interesting. And she always was keen to make sure every detail had been covered. She also was super sweet in ensuring that we found a Starbucks when a coffee was needed!

We used public transport which was great on day 1 - as it allowed us to see the real Beijing. we only needed the driver to get to the Summer Palace and Great Wall.

thanks again Fiona - I have no doubt in recommending you to anyone who may go to Beijing!

I booked a day tour of Temple of Heaven (Tian Tan), Tiananmen, Forbidden City (GuGong) with Fiona and my family had a blast! She was flexible and altered the tour based on our walking speed.
Her english was excellent and my parents had no problems communicating with her. She was respectful and took great care of my parents.
She was also very knowledgeable about beijing and its history.
SHe also gave us tips about the city and how to avoid scammers e.g. the road side vendors

My family spent a day in the company of the lovely Fiona touring some of the main tourist spots of Beijing. Fiona arrived early and was waiting for us in the hotel lobby; some 9 hours later we waved goodbye after a full day. Fiona is fun, knowledgeable and attentive; we increasingly enjoyed her easy-going manner and company as the day progressed. Only an hour had passed when my wife's existing ankle injury meant she could not continue walking and needed to return to our hotel. Fiona acquired 3 bottles of water without being asked while we debated what to do in the Summer heat. My daughter and I continued into the Forbidden City while Fiona took care of my wife and called an Uber car for her a short distance away. After the car had left Fiona realised she still had my wife's camera bag that she had been carrying for her and so contacted the driver to return; he could not do this as the car was stuck in traffic so Fiona hired a bicycle and raced after them to return the bag, and then returned to the Forbidden City to meet up with the remaining members of our group. We then spent a few hours exploring the Forbidden City and stopped for a cool drink whereupon Fiona produced chocolate bars that she had previously purchased for us and a traditional Chinese game for my daughter. Following that we climbed the steep hill in Jingshan Park for the fantastic views overlooking the Forbidden City from above. Having previously guided us in using the metro Fiona then arranged another Uber to take us to the Summer Place; she again had extensive knowledge of this venue and when I jokingly suggested taking the peddle powered boat on the lake she immediately took up the challenge with enthusiasm and provided most of the effort in propelling us around - what stamina and willingness to take on activities to please her guests. We finally ended our day with a stroll through the hutongs. A wonderful, relaxed and memorable day. Thank you Fiona!

As I was in Beijing I din't want to miss the opportunity to visit The Great wall of China. However, I didn't have much time, my flight was at 3 pm.
Fortunately, Fiona was there to make my visit possible, She came to my Hotel before 7 am at -2 degree. She was very punctual and everything was well arranged. She took me through to the one of the greatest architectures and strength of the Human will. She was also very informative. We discussed a lot about the architecture and also about the culture.
She is awesome!

We have just returned from a trip through a number of Asian countries, which culminated in a three day stay in Beijing which was a highlight.
We have met many great guides in our travels, and can honestly endorse the excellent assessments of Fiona which can be found on Trip Advisor.
From our first email contact with Fiona we were impressed with her flexibility and efficiency, and her fee was comparable to all the other quotes which we had obtained.
Fiona is extremely knowledgeable about the history and culture of Beijing and China, and she imparts her knowledge with a delightful enthusiasm and pride.
During our stay in Beijing, Fiona showed us the Summer Palace, Hutong, theTemple of Heaven, the Great Wall at Mutianyu, a Cloisonné factory. the Ming Tombs, Tian'anmen Square, and the Forbidden City. Her planning was highly efficient, taking into account our late arrival and an early departure, and heavy traffic issues. She bought tickets in advance so as to avoid entry delays, and she is very knowledgeable about the best gates through which to access sites, and where to find the shortest line-ups so as to maximize the use of time. Fiona was completely flexible with her time, she was very punctual, yet open to any changes which we wished to make. Her thoughtfulness and willingness to accommodate our needs and interests was remarkable.
Fiona's drivers were courteous and safe, and their cars were well-maintained.
We were so fortunate to have had Fiona show us her city, as she added something very special to a very memorable trip.
If you are looking for an excellent tour guide and a memorable "Beijing experience", you will not be disappointed if you engage Fiona. She is "the best"!

I have family in Shanghai and they suggested I contact Fiona as a guide in Beijing. I had her for 2 days where we did both a full Beijing city tour and a great wall visit. What really brought the trip alive was Fiona's knowledge of the history and teaching me about the previous royal families and China's fascinating history. It was great to have a local show me around and she even taught me a song to sing in Mandarin for my new baby cousin! A memorable trip and a great guide.
