Very good massage near Tsinghua University
Nov 2013
I am studying at Tsinghua University this term and have been looking for a professional Chinese massage clinic near the university for some time. Thanks to Ysolde-voyages's review below, I have finally found what I've been looking for. Professional and skillful massage in a clean (no frills) environment, reasonably priced and close to Tsinghua University in the Wudaokou area of Beijing. This clinic, in the TUS (Tsinghua Science Park office complexes), is a mere 5 minute stroll from the South East Gate of Tsinghua. The technician whom I will call Mr. Zhou is excellent.( He told me his full Chinese name but I couldn't quite pick it up). I only have very basic Chinese speaking skills and was able to communicate with him. He was very patient in trying to understand what I needed and proceeded to give me one of the best massages I have ever had. Although no English is spoken at the clinic, the menu of services is in English and Chinese. I don't think it would be a problem if you were unable to speak Chinese as it's not too difficult to gesture or point out what it is you need in a massage to the technician. They offer a full range of Chinese massage services including body and foot massage. The treatment room is clean and airy. The prices are reasonable. Mr. Zhou was very generous with his time. He even went over the time I paid for just to make sure I had a really good massage. Note that the Building D of TUS is very accessible by bicycle as there are bike lanes throughout this very low traffic area. I highly recommend this clinic and will continue going there until I leave Beijing. It's a real find!

Very professional, reasonably priced Chinese massage in Tsinghua TUS Science Park level B1
Aug 2011 • Solo
I was staying at Wenjin Hotel on Chengfu Road near Tsinghua University and discovered a very professional, reasonably priced traditional Chinese massage place in Building D, Level B1 (basement) of the Tsinghua Science Park TUS office complex (near Wall Street English Language School). Here's the Chinese name and address: 博苑康艺推拿按摩 海淀区清华科技园科技大厦D座B1层 The decor was pleasant, and everything was very clean and well organized. I spoke Chinese to the staff, so I do not know know whether anyone there speaks English. The price list is in Chinese & English so even if you do not know any Chinese, you can pick your service and pay for it in English. If you can say "Teng" 疼 ("hurts") or "BuTeng" 不疼 ('doesn't hurt") to the massage therapist, you should be fine. There were 15 or 20 different services at different prices ranging from very cheap to relatively expensive. I had the massage + adjustment (like US chiropractor) for 198 RMB which was one of the more expensive services. The person who did the massage 肖喜英 Xiao Xiying is a blind woman. (Massage is a traditional occupation for the blind in China), and she did an excellent job. She was very gentle and careful, but effective. It was one of the best traditional Chinese massages I've ever had in China, I will definitely go back.
