About
The brewery that started Beijing's craft beer revolution in 2010 is still pouring some of the best beer around. With as many as 20 beers on tap, and rarely fewer than 17, we've got the largest selection of locally brewed beer on tap in town, nothing in bottles, nothing shipped from across the ocean, just pure, fresh beer. While we don't have food available, we have menus from many of our neighboring restaurants and can help you order great food like pizza, dumplings, kebabs, or simple Chinese food.

Best beer in town! Banana Wheat is my favorite. Staff could be a little friendlier but they aren't rude. Great place to hang out with friends. Little hard to find use google maps their directions are more accurate than trip advisor

I ordered the Mango stout and first, the guy over poured and put a head on it hat was the size of the glass, fine. I offered a taste to a friend and he agreed that the taste was “off”. We went to the bar tender and complained- his response was “you don’t know what a stout taste like” - wow, what a stupid reply. We asked for refund and he refused. I said “fine, give me another,” but your attitude toward the customer is not very good. After some discussion he asked “do you want this beer” and I replied “do you want my money?” after which he then refused to serve the beer. No, I’m not inebriated while writing this review. The attitude at this place is that many people will come so who cares about the one person who wants to complain - there are many other breweries now in Beijjng. Avoid this place like the plague!

Don’t show up at 10:32 when last call is at 10:30. You won’t find flexibility or friendliness here. Wish I could comment on the beer but I didn’t get to try it.

Loved this little craft brewery tucked away in a hutong. Went to another popular craft brewery in the newer part of the city, by the Sanlitung Bar Street, and liked this gem here way more!

I have visited Great leap about 10 times over the past year during 3 trips to china. The Honey Ma is an excellent choice, but there are several varieties. last year I celebrated St Patrick's Day here sampling the special beers featured for the occasion, The staff is friendly and helpful, plus there is free wi-fi and outdoor seating.. My only complaint is that almost every time I am there to relax there is some American educating another patron about the American political scene. Please, enjoy your beer, let the rest of us do the same while away from the noise of politics!

Summer in beijing you need airco and cold beer. This place has about 30 different beers plus good food at reasonable prices. It's a favorite of mine, especially the IPAs.

This is a great place to visit when you need to reset after being in China for a while. The original location has no food but does offer a bowl of peanuts if you ask at the bar. A great little pub, which is hard to find but well worth the adventure. Our search for the pub lead us to more great experiences along the trek.

They don't serve food but you can order a takeaway which will be served in poor packaging. They don't have toilet but there is public toilet outside the pub with holes in the ground. The beer garden smells of piss. The ale may be tasty but I will never come again.

The beer is fantastic, the owner is great and very friendly. You can sit outside but I preferred sitting at the bar and talk with the owner who slowly drew me thru the whole set of beers. He was out of some and it was a great shame but it was great anyway.

This place is all about the location - beautiful courtyard tucked away in a quite hutong alleyway. Gem! Beers are very decent too. Love the idea of ordering food from nearby restaurants. Great place to explore the hutongs as you literally have to walk through to get there!

Are children OK here? We would like to visit and will be traveling with a toddler who is very well travelled and a regular at restaurants and bars.
Written October 24, 2019
Yes, I think children are fine here. It's a pretty relaxed bar and most of it is open courtyard so lots of space to fine a quieter corner if you need it.
