Famous Chinese painter and poet
Sep 2019
It is located in the middle of Yu’er Hutong 雨儿胡同, one of the west lane of Nanluoguxiang 南锣鼓巷. It is the former residence of a famous Chinese painter and poet. Upon entering this place, there is a statue of Qi Baishi in the courtyard. There are only 3 surrounding rooms, featuring his life, displaying some of his famous paintings, wooden carvings, poems etc. Entrance ticket is 5rmb, about 15-20 mins is sufficient to browse through this place.

A Hidden Gem of a Courtyard Residence Museum Honoring an Artist and Poet
Aug 2018 • Solo
Wonderful peaceful and special respite along a narrow Hutong. The restored house has paintings of this artist as well as a film and a good brochure and explanations in English so one can appreciate the life of this artist in an interesting time of China. in August of 2018 fee entrance was 5 yuan. Always ensure you have cash unless you have WeChat pay account.

Well restored courtyard house and informative display, in English, about the artist
Lonely Planet Beijing has a good walk round the hutongs centred on Nanluogo Xiang, but unaccountably misses out this restored courtyard house. It was given to Qi Baishi in 1955, not long before he died, but the Cultural Revolution and other political shenanigans meant it all falling into disrepair again. In 2012 the house was reopened as a museum of Qi Baishi's life. There are three main rooms and a very good video which is enjoyable even if you speak no Mandarin, as parts of it show him painting.
The museum makes a pleasant change from the overpriced bars and garish shops of Nanluogo Xiang, and is just a short way along the Mao'er Hutong. Cost is 5 Yuan, miles better value than the Drum and Bell towers nearby.

Taxi Drivers at airport in china
Nov 2012 • Business
Be careful with taxi driver at the airport in china.
I got into the taxi at the airport and he told to charge 450 RMB. I realized that he is cheating and got out and after few efforts , I paid only 70 RMB to go to hotel (Novotel Beijing Peace in downtown) from aiport.
