The inside of this mosque is just beautiful! Very colorful, proper Chinese temple type with Quranic scriptures everywhere! When I went to pray, a few Chinese brothers were reading the Quran in a perfect Arabic! Ma shaa Allah! I was just amazed, I sat down and ended up listening to them. The place was quite empty (like a lot of mosques in China outside prayer time). IT was literally 3 min walk from my hotel (Hotel 616) and maybe a couple of minutes away walking from the metro stop Dongsi. Easy access! There is a cheap, nice and good halal restaurant in my hotel street (please note they do sell alcohol). Can be an option after visiting the mosque.

This mosque is very near to dongsi station. Go right from the exit and turn right at the junction. Its on the right side of the road. Keep your eyes open or you might miss it.

Once you're inside, you'll feel peaceful. It was quite, not many people inside, very clean and just overally beautiful.

Tbh, we were so exhausted after walking around in summer, in the middle of the day. But then we prayed at this mosque and rest for a while and instantly felt better. If you're a muslim, this place (and niu jie mosque) is a must to visit. Both mosque is unique in their own way.

Glad that the mosque is located in the city. However, it seems like it's not well maintained. The toilets (women) are bad (dirty). However the prayer hall is good. No fan or air-cond, but it really good and kinda cold inside.

Dongsi mosque is near to Dongsi subway station. It is 20 minutes walk to Wanfujing area. If you walk south along Dongsi South street, the mosque is at your right hand side. It is located between shops selling clothes, shoes etc. There are hostel, hypermart and halal restaurant nearby.

From the outside it doesn't look like a mosque and there are no english signs showing that it is a mosque. However, when you enter inside , you will see arabic ( quranic) scriptures and a sign that says dongsi east mosque. I went during the time where there was no prayer and the mosque was empty. Friendly staff and beautiful mosque . Worth visiting if you want to see a mix of islamic and chinese culture .

Once was one of the four most-famous mosques in Beijing. But now is very quiet, only a few people go and pray. Newly restored, beautiful interior with typical decorations for mosque in China.
