If you are beginner and intermediate then this is the place. Not that crowded, not highly difficult landscape so you may enjoy skiing safe and sound.

First off, I have to say how discouraging it was when for the last few days, I had been trying to get info on making it to this place on public transportation. It seemed that every source insisted on either renting a private taxi(called "black" taxi in China), or using the ridiculous bus from Longze or Deshengmen. Mind you, I say ridiculous because the traffic flow along Beijing roads has become notoriously unreliable. Now, I have to say that my family and I are total beginners and I am directing this review towards that very crowd. Jundushan, I would say, is the perfect place only if you go on the perfect day. We decided to go today, since it's a day before the Spring Festival eve and most of the crowds will be out of town, visiting family. Other than that, it was also an official work day. The skiing equipment was in good shape and didn't have any flaws. The ski suits we rented were for a mere 30yuan. Lockers for 20 yuan but not nice tall ones, there was just enough room for a backpack and a pair of shoes. Electronic locks which you get a rubber bracelet key for, so kinda secure, I think. By the way, they accepted Chinese bank cards for ticket purchase and equipment rental. Also, there was a 300 yuan deposit for the skis. Whether its one pair or three, they take 300 yuan as deposit. We also hired a ski instructor, which cost us 600 for 3 of us for 2 hours. They are apparently different deals going on depending on the whether its a holiday, weekday or festival. Snow was really nice, not too compressed and icy like some "skiing parks" downtown. Attendants tried to be helpful but spoke very little English. Food was mediocre. There is a small store selling somewhat overpriced beverages and snacks(Mineral water-4 yuan), within the main building itself. Western food is served at a coffee shop, again very, very basic but alright for your fix of coffee and a sandwich. If you think you need to hire a car(400-800 yuan round trip) to take you there, think again. Take subway line 8 heading north to the end of the line. Then transfer to Changping line and keeping on going north. Get off at BEISHAOWA(北邵洼), at EXIT C, walk to the traffic light and turn right at the light. You'll see a bus stop. Take bus number 21 to Jundushan. The bus stop is an 8 minute walk to the entrance of the resort. We tried this today and it was just fantastic. Alternatively, there are private taxis at the subway entrance that take 25-30 yuan to take you to the entrance
