Local park
Sep 2019
I passed by this park as my hotel was nearby. It is a free park mainly catered to the locals. There is Qingnianhu Water World, an outdoor swimming pool inside the park. The park also features a playground as well as numerous attraction rides for children. The park is quiet, with many benches to rest and enjoy the nice surrounding lake. It is worth a visit if you are already nearby.

Open air swimming pool from June to August
Aug 2018
One of my favourite summer destinations in Beijing. The large open air pool is for the most part uncrowded, particularly in the mornings and to the beginning of the season when you may have the place to yourself. Though beware - on a hot, clear summer's day you might be fighting just for standing space. As well as the large pool, which is around 1.5m deep, there is a separate, shallower part of the pool that features slides and lots of water play equipment. Behind the main pool are some benches which are favoured by sunbathing expats (locals tend to shun the sun). The closest entrance is at the South Gate (on the western corner of the park) Buy tickets at the booth just after you enter the park (in 2018 it was 50RMB for an adult). The changing rooms are basic and showers rather insipid, but that's not the reason you come. Once you're changed, you can leave your clothes for free in a storage facility to the right and your valuables in separate lockers to the left (There is a small charge). Generally though, China is pretty safe, so unless you're carrying your passport and/or a diamond tiara, you'll probably be fine to leave your belongings out in the open. It's open from around 10-5, in June and then in July and August it opens a little earlier and stays open later.

Qingnianhu Park Outdoor Pool Beijing
Jun 2014 • Family
Great outdoor Pools in Beijing, nice and clean, great slides for kids, not much shade but get there early as by after 2:30 water gets a bit mucky on hot days.. Cheap compared to other pools in Beijing.
