One of the places you must see in Beijing,China is the Summer Palace. There are many beautiful buildings and temples The man-made Kunming lake is large and has many beautiful views like Seventeen Arch Bridge and The Tower of Buddhist Incense.

Another building at the Summer Palace. The building is nothing special but. The inside is very simple and not worth the attention. The Summer Palace is great though.

The Hall is just one of the attractions within the Summer Palace and gets its importance from that. The Summer Palace as a whole is well worth seeing and the Hall is part of that. Interesting to see the excesses and more interesting to note that the Summer Palace as a whole was burned by British and French forces as a lesson to the Emperor and had to be rebuilt.

This Hall was the residence of the Empress Dowager Cixi and is the largest residential quarters in the Summer Palace. The Empress Dowager would stay here from the fourth lunar month to the start of the tenth lunar month each year. Most of her final years of life were spent here. She lived a life of luxury and excesses here. In this hall alone 28 ladies-in-waiting and 20 eunuchs attended to her while more than a thousand waited on her in the garden. The chandeliers hanging from the ceiling here were China's first electric lights installed in 1903.

The place is very beaufitul and lies inside one of Beijing's best tourist spots, the Summer Palace. You have to plan before going to the Summer palace because the place is quite big. Otherwise, you may miss important places like this one.

Fantastic place to visit, it goes on for ever. Not as picturesque as other places we visited, but the history is fantastic.

The bronze statures in front of the building are interesting. Although the building its self is not so special.
