I booked a ticket to an opera via the website. The box office will send you a WeChat so you can choose your seat; sometimes they contact you right away and sometimes it takes a few hours. But they are very nice and responsive and explain exactly how to exchange the QR code they’ll send to you, to get your actual ticket at the theater. At the performance the seats are VERY comfortable and every seat has a decent view so don’t be worried if you book in the back section, it’s tiered rows so you will be able to see no matter where you sit. The performance I attended had Chinese subtitles on each side of the stage, so if you only know English, do not expect to understand everything. But the acting and costumes and music were all incredible, and the storytelling transcends language (though admittedly you’d get more out of it if you knew Chinese). I had a wonderful time in this beautiful theater. I liked it so much that I’m going back next weekend.

We watched the performance of the Beijing Opera Qinyuchuan in the Chang'an Grand Theatre. The Beijing Opera Channel, the Beijing Opera Channel, was shown on television and won the Shanghai Magnolia Award last year. The lead actor has a beautiful voice and all the performers are fantastic.

This was a true Chinese cultural experience. Fortunately there were English subtitles, although the story seemed less important than the spectacle! The costumes, make-up and performimg skills of the actors were remarkable. We were really glad to have found this theatre and experienced a true Chinese evening of entertainment

In spite of the very central location, tour users dint visit this place. This is a very good reason to go. Excellent opera and acrobatics after the visit we could meet the performers.
Would go back again. .

We saw a performance of Jingju (Chinese opera) here and it was very interesting. The audience was Chinese rather than foreign tourists, so it felt very authentic. That night we heard a modern Chinese opera with the traditional music and style of acting but a modern theme and stage. Well worth it.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Show went for an hour so a good introduction to Peking Opera. English translation on the sides which was helpful. Highly recommended.
