Had a great tour with Shannon in Beijing. She has been living there for 10 years and was able to provide fascinating insights into Chinese culture and food with an understanding of where her (Western) guests were coming from. The food places she took us to were varied and provided great food - certainly some of the most authentic we had in China. She took us through some fascinating parts of Beijing that added to the culinary pleasures. Also organised drop off back to our out-of-the way hotel which made the evening go very smoothly.. Highly recommended.

It can't be right that my favourite experience in this extraordinary city was eating barbecued lamb skewers on the footpath while Beijing locals enjoyed the night, strolling around a lake close to the Forbidden City on one of the busiest days of the year. At the peak of Mid Autumn Festival Shannon introduced us to a friendly, warm and inviting Beijing, we ate wonderful local treats in out of the way spots no one but a seasoned local could have found. Originally from Sydney she navigated the back streets of Beijing, the language and our incessant questions in a gentle and highly informative manner. I can't recommend this walking tour highly enough, simply amazing!

Shannon provided for us one of the highlights of our stay in Beijing. She is a warm and engaging person who connected immediately with us on our tour. Her knowledge of Beijing history , food , and culture is shared in a gentle and informative manner. She is fluent in Chinese which is invaluable. Our evening walk ,talk and food tasting was relaxing and delicious. Shannon organised a car to drive us home to our hotel which took the stress out of the end of the evening. Being able to wander and relax with a local is special and a real treat. I can highly recommend Shannon as your next guide in Beijing.

We had a delightful and informative tour. I am a tea drinker and wanted to find out more about traditions around tea as well as the type of teas grown in China. This tour provided an in depth overview of the subject. The facility was very clean and our tour guide Shannon and the Tea Institute's demonstrator walked us through the rich traditions of preparing and serving tea. They prepped me for a wedding tea ceremony that I participated in the following day. Shanon is a wonderful and caring guide. Unprompted she emailed me to warn me of an upcoming violent storm. The lunch with Shannon was very relaxing and the food was good.
