Absolutely loved beijing. The city was so clean and very well set out. The subway system was terrific and once you got used it, was fantastic and so cheap to use. The language barrier was definitely a challenge, but thanks to google translate, certainly things were easier. Found the people very approachable and respectful. A huge police presence so one nevr felt unsafe. Would definitely go back.

Beijing is the capital of china the air polluted city.but the city is equipped with all kinds of facilities and breathtaking city view by its natural setting . cleanliness is highly maintained with in the city and also the outside of the city.but if you are visiting china as a tourist you must first download chinese translation application (the most used application is BAIDU) as the most of the Chinese citizens are not speaking english. But chinese younger generation and the pple who are speaking english are very helpful in guiding the tourist as well all the Chinese people are very helpful rather some pple are hot tempered. As well the transportation is very easy and cheap if the tourist are using the metro instead of private taxi services.in every metro station there are english speaking workers or name bords to guide ppl. The sanitary facilities are offerd but the cleanliness is in very lower status in the public areas but in the shopping malls you can find clean sanitary facilities. There are many tour operators are available in Beijing so the most suitable and safe way is to connect with a tour operator and arrange the tour package as its very rare to see solo tourist only speak english. The tour operators are offering englsih speaking tour guides who are directing the tourist nicely. The fobbiden city, summer place, great wall, temple of heaven are the best hitorical places to visit in china. Also the beijing zoo is another good place to visit where you can see the panda bears. Shopping experience is Beijing is also interesting as some good places are avilable to buy good and quality cloths, suvaniors, gift items the best place i visited is silk market which you can bargain and buy cheap first quality branded stuff and cloths, cloths and all kinds of suvaniors. The best thing is you can bargain and buy the stuff according to your budget.

A city very clean and well maintained. The buildings are huge. The roads a very wide. I did not see a single policeman . That means every thing is well organized. There are parking slots. So you do not have to go rounds and rounds to find a parking place. Enough hotels and Restaurants. There are enough places to visit. Forbidden City, Summer Palace. Olympic City, Grate Wall. Can reach with in 1-2 hours.Air is polluted and I had a cough for nearly 3 weeks after coming back. Temperature changes frequently. One night it is hot and other day it is cold. Only problem is majority can not speak English. You will find difficulties when dining. Most of the Chinese people are not friendly. They do not smile at all. They have a very bad sales policy. A product priced for 100 can be bought for 40 after bargaining. Some sales people are very rude. They do not care tourists. Even in the Air Port it is same.

We were there 3 nights. City is amazing, but huge and very polluted air. All our 7 stops in China over 3 weeks had smoggy air. But, we anticipated all that and still desired to visit. Subways are doable once you've done it a time or two. We found people friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this be included as part of your trip.
