Our drivers made a special stop so that we could take some pictures of, and at the tusks. There are elephant sculptures there in Aug. 2022 on both sides of the tusks. Just be careful, as taking pictures at the tusks requires crossing traffic.

An important square and landmark of the city of Mombasa is this elephant's tusks
Africa in general and Kenya in particular are famous for containing five of the largest animals in the world, including elephants
There is also another field, Elephant Square, which contains life-sized models of elephants.

If you haven't passed through the gate from the tusks, you haven't been to Mombasa, the guide told us. It is an important symbol of the city. Of course, a photo must not be missing, but a short stop is more than enough. Beware of standing under trees, some animals sometimes like to drop some bodily fluid on you.

The landmark is known but significantly smaller than I had expected. There is a park by the road right next to the landmark. Coming out there and home with the same TukTuk driver, he had not managed to get a new customer. Is a little included, they could well refresh it up.

The Tusks look more impressive on postcards. in reality is a noisy main artery that does not make the stay pleasant. One is glad to leave this place again soon. But the Freedom Park next to it is a worthwhile place.

Visiting Mombasa the Tusks can´t be skipped. We also did a short stop there and took a few pictures. If I had enough time I would spend more time in this part of the city. It was a big contrast between old town we visited before and this modern quarter yet so different from the European cities.

The tusks are located along Moi Avenue in the city. They are a symbol of the city of which a photo or two may be a worth while memory.

Due to the crazy traffic in Mombasa you could easily miss these. It's bit out of place, however great to see and always a good photo opportunity. Sounds weird but it makes you really feel you're in Africa!

The tusks look so cliche but reaching them with friends was quite exciting. I believe I was in awe of how huge and beautiful they looked.

These are Moi Avenue opposite the Uhuru Gardens. A vendor selling ice cream passed by after we took pictures infront of the tusks which we enjoyed in the Uhuru Gardens.

It a sight. Being a landmark in Kenya both tourists and locals stop to take pictures or take a walk or rest in the Uhuru Gardens and then go on.
