It's relatively clean and less crowded than other beaches I have been to. Walked along the shore with my friends picking up sea shells for an interior decoration project. You can get some really nice Coral reefs there for such. I love this beach.

Beautiful white sand beach.the Indian ocean water is attractive to swim.
The beach is very wide and long with many vendors selling variety of goods and services. On weekends the beach is full of locals

The sea blue and green, the sand white , the sun hot gold and green palm trees in your back. Tourism is very slowly recovering, so don't expect luxury infrastructure. Try to rent a good boat 2 hours before sunset and go up the seaarm separating Mombasa and Nyali for a fantastic sunset.

The healthy option offered at Nyali Sun Africa is amazing to say the least. There have various options to choose from which makes it my preferred choice. The Hotel also has a beautiful and safe beach front (free from the notorious beach boys) with the best views in the world. The rooms are very spacious with great views of either the garden or the ocean view. And Oh the 1600hrs tea with snacks is free for ALL the guests..how about that!! I would recomend this hotel anytime. Will be back again in February..see you then.

- the beach is long and quite chilled, not so many people.
-white soft sand and warm water, you can swim
- the only problem was that it wasn’t that clean, plastic bottles and other garbage was drifting around us on the water. I wish the government would pay more attention to the cleanliness of the beach.

Strolling by this beach is better than doing so at the public beach. You can eat, swim, wade, drink madafu as well as tons of other activities. We were here for a few days, and you can see an account of our visit on my blog : Dees Travels.

This is a coastal urban location with numerous modern facilities and amenities including a theme park, malls and hotels. The beach is way cleaner and scenic.

This is a review of a snorkeling trip purchased at Prosurf centre at Nyali beach. We purchased this trip in March 2014 a day before planned trip. We agreed the boat would take us to corral reef and it should take around 2 hours.
On the day of trip the weather that day was slightly windy, but nothing exceptional really. The boat that came to pick us up was on time, but problems started when we tried to set sail :) The motor was too weak to get us moving :) After short fight combined with manual pushing we did manage to set sail. The "captain" hardly understanding English took us to some place and said " You see fish?... now you swim".... I tried to ask him where is the coral reef but communication was getting really difficult. We discovered that his helper can actually speak English and told us that coral reef is our next stop. "Great" I thought so we jumped in water and looked at fish. After about 15 -20 mins they invited as back to the boat. We started moving towards reef I thought.. but... guys had all the time problems with a motor. This thing stopped every 5 minutes and we saw these guys fighting to start it. Finally we stopped, but nowhere close to the corral reef. I asked them what is the problem, but they said that they are going to show me a starfish and we come back. I confirm that they showed me the starfish and then we went back... I went to the office and claimed that we did not receive what we paid for. The way they talked to me I could describe as "chilled out smartass dudes" making stories why they can't give me back any money.
My opinion is that this is totally unprofessional place and I recommend to avoid them.

I stayed in one of the hotels on Nyali Beach. It is a public beach and not private to the hotels that are along it. There are boys/men on the beach selling excursions and wood carvings. We booked our safari and our snorkelling trip with these guys and they are lovely, give them a chance, they are trying to make a living, and are a lot cheaper than what you can book in the hotel or with your tour operators, for the exact same trips. Get to know them, we spoke to Katana (wears a cowboy hat) and Anthony for snorkelling who also became friends we went for food with them and also visited Mtwapa a local village/town with them to see the real area. And we booked our safari with Martin Tours also from the beach. Give it a go, live a little, lovely people and a gorgeous beach

where is the best place to access the beach if I was getting dropped off in a taxi. is there bars n restaurants to sit at. thanks
Written August 24, 2018
There are two paths down to Nyali beach from the road - they access the beach only a hundred yards apart so either will door you can walk along from Mombasa beach through Jamaira beach to Nyali at low tide. Any tut tut driver or taxi will know where to drop you to walk down. But one path starts by the Nyali Beach Hotel. There are 'bases' on the beach where you can rent plastic chairs for 100 ks . You can buy a freshly caught BbQed fish [ white snapper often] or a bottle of water but little else at least not in June when i was there.

Hallo :) ,
