Victoria Safaris organised something very special for me: a five-day trek across Mount Elgon in Uganda in December 2014 (a date I cannot select from the drop-down menu on this website). They did an excellent job, and I thank them for it. The destination itself is fantastic.

10 day experience where I was able to visit the major national parks of Rwanda with very excellent birding guides, trek to a gorilla family feeding in the bamboo forest, and on another day trek through mountain rainforest to see a chimpanzee family feeding in fig trees. My bird list increased by 140 life birds while seeing 197 species in Rwanda. On one day alone in Akagera we saw 90+ species of birds and 14 species of animals including large close herds of elephants, hippos, a huge crocodile, giraffe, warthog, and many many antelope species. The accomodations were excellent as was the wonderful driver Clemons and the birding guides Emmanuel and Narciss and the gorilla guide Claude. We even met a gorilla doctor and his team out at work.

From the outset Victoria Safaris did their utmost to meet my needs as I was only in Nairobi for a short time. I was met by Issac at the airport and I was the only one on the tour. Issac kept in close contact with the rangers and other tours to ensure we didn't miss out on anything- this meant going retracing our path and going off the main track to see a lioness with a recent kill. We saw a real range of animals which was vital for me of course and Issac was knowledgeable and with all his experience supplied a wealth of information. I was a bit surprised when we stopped and I was taken on a walk along the riverbank with a Masai man, but he was charming and the small group of women selling small trinkets didn't hasle me when I didn't want to buy anything (actually I would have done, but i had no small bills). We were even late leaving the park-there were no other tours left so I had a lovely sunset too. This was a well organised and well timed safari with a good open top vehicle. Great afternoon. Thank you

Victoris Safaris also organize Maasai mara trips under their Maasai Mara ways company. The best part was working with a company that customizes your trip to accomodate the various needs in a group. Also the flexibility to rearrange the itnerary within the budget was great. I highly recommend them for being able to recommend places and activities within your budget and their wealth of experience. I recommend them if you are interested in planning a personalized itinerary. The tour guides were exceptional and served us with a lot of passion for their work. For local tourists particularly i encourage you to check them out. The 'icing on the cake' for us local tourists was to see all the big 5 in one full day of touring the Mara triangle. Yes we did not see the Big Migration as it was not that time of the year...but going in the low season was also a great highlight because the Mara was not crowded with tour vans and the rates were great and the accommodations were not crowded. So local tourists this is your time and I believe Victoria Safaris can help.
