Our Company Sunworld Safaris is operational since 1997 and is an owner - run Specialist Tour Operator, based in Nairobi, Kenya. We select eco-friendly hotels/lodges/ camps for our guests, are determined to respect and conserve wildlife and support local communities. We used the services from Sunworld-Safari for 11 days. Our driver was called Kevin (last name) and for our group of 8 people we were using a Safari Landcruiser (9 seater).
Our itinerary looked as follows:
Day 1: Transfer Lake Naivasha to Massai Mara
Day 2-4: Three whole-day drives in Massai Mara
Day 5: Transfer Massai Mara to Nairobi
Day 6: Transfer Nairobi to Amboseli + evening drive
Day 7-8: Morning and evening drive Amboseli
Day 9: Transfer Tsavo East + evening drive
Day 10: Morning and evening drive Tsavo East
Day: 11: Transfer Tsavo East to Malindi
During all these travels Kevin was always looking after our well-being. During the longer transfers he had good feeling for when we were in need of a washroom-break and he knew the good spots. He speaks English very well and has quite knack for other languages aswell.
During the game drives Kevin always tried his best to give us good view of the animals and he was very communicative regarding how much time we need to look at them. While we marvelled at the animals Kevin often shared some interesting facts about the respective animals. Once he got to know us a bit better and realized we were not just interested in the big five but also the other animals (especially birds), he was very happy to help us find and identify them. We learned how adaptive he is and that he really enjoys his profession.
Although we had some exciting events happening like encounters with elephants and adventerous roads, we always felt very safe with Kevin. His driving style was equally save during our game drives as well as in heavy traffic with questionable maneuvers from the vehicles around us. Same goes for when we had lunch in the parks and he dilligently checked the area beforehand for any potential dangers
When we stayed in the lodges/camps Kevin was quick to talk to the staff there to make sure everything worked out as planned.
To add a few facts about the vehicle, it was a modified Toyata Landcruiser for Safaris. Therefore, it had two openable roofs one for the passengers in the back and one for the driver and the passenger in front. As such, all of us were able to get a good look at the animals. The car was spacious and comfortable even during longer travels with our luggage. Kevin always made sure that it was tidy and as clean as it could be regarding the circumstances. Additionally, we really enjoyed the little amenities like drinking water (refilled by Kevin), blankets, and electrical outlets that came with the car.
The lodges where only partly organized by Sunworld, for the most part we organized them ourselves.
All in all, we would definitely repeat our wonderful journey with Kevin and we thank him for his great work!!!

We had the pleasure of having Laban as our Safari Guide during our recent trip, and we cannot recommend him highly enough. From the very beginning, Laban’s knowledge and passion for the wildlife were apparent. He knew exactly where the animals would be and made sure we had the best possible experience spotting them. His expertise was unmatched, and his enthusiasm for the safari made every moment unforgettable.
Laban was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also the most polite and kind person you could ask for. He went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well taken care of. He even flew with us to and from the Safari camp, which made the journey feel extra special.
Every morning, Laban would have breakfast packed for us, and there was always a hot cup of coffee waiting by our tents, which was such a thoughtful touch! His attention to detail and genuine care for making our trip memorable made a world of difference.
We’ve been to Africa multiple times, but Laban was truly the best guide we’ve ever had. He made our safari experience extraordinary, and we would rate him a solid 10/10. If you're fortunate enough to have him as your guide, you're in for an unforgettable adventure!

We had an amazing time with Sunworld Safaris. Our 2 drivers Steven and Obadiah did a great job. Smooth driving although some of the roads were rough, their knowledge and respect for wildlife is remarkable. The Mara Bushcamp Private Wing and the Lionsbluff Lodge were stunning. The Staff was very kind and took great care of us.
Certainly can recommend a trip with Sunworld Safaris for anyone who is looking for an unforgettable experience.

My husband and I chose to work with Sunworld because our friends used them in the past and they did not disappoint! We requested a female guide for our 4 day trip but at first they did not have any female guides on staff. A few weeks before our trip Patricia emailed me saying they just hired an acclaimed female safari guide. We were thrilled! Anne ensured that we had a wonderful trip! She was very knowledgeable and kind. I hope to see more and more female guides as Anne paves the way for women to enter the field.
She picked us up at our hotel in Nairobi and we traveled to Lake Naivasha for an incredible stay at the Sopa Lodge that had zebra and wildebeest grazing right in front of our hotel room. Then she drove us to the Mara for incredible safari days in the Mara Triangle. We stayed at the Mara Serena Safari Lodge and had a great stay and loved our daily morning and evening rides around the triangle.
She picked us up at our hotel in Nairobi and we traveled to Lake Naivasha for an incredible stay at the Sopa Lodge that had zebra and wildebeest grazing right in front of our hotel room. Then she drove us to the Mara for incredible safari days in the Mara Triangle. We used a different tour company for our honeymoon but our driver, Armstrong works for Sunworld Safaris. He was the most incredible tour guide and driver, we are so grateful to have shared our experience of Kenya with him. He is extremely knowledgable, professional and has the eye sight of an eagle! He can spot anything from birds to lions hiding in the tall grass almost straight away. His driving was also 10/10. I know a lot of tourists are sceptical about the safety of driving in Kenya - he got us everywhere we needed to be on time in the safest way possible. No risks taken and always put us first. He gave us so much information and history on Kenya which has been a real eye opener. When we come back to Kenya for our next safari, we will definitely be requesting him!

Worked with Sonal at Sunworld to develop a 10 day safari for my family of 7. Great help and support from Sonal. On the ground, our guide Felix was amazing. He really knows his stuff and made our trip so wonderful and memorable with all exciting game drives to find the big fives and hunting runs of a cheetah family. Great trip for my young kids for the rest of their lives. Thank you Sonal and Felix

My husband and I went with a photographic tour group of friends to Samburu and Masai Mara through Sunworld Safaris. We had an absolutely wonderful time on our safari and much of it was thanks to our amazing guide, Laban Sadera. He made our trip a lot of fun all while being professional, courteous, and accommodating. He was incredibly knowledgeable and answered all of our questions from the customs of the Masai people to the animals, bugs, and plants that we saw every day in both Samburu and Masai Mara. He was very good about proactively explaining the behaviors and history of the animals we were seeing as well. We are definitely leaving Kenya far more knowledgeable than we were when we arrived!
There were 20 of us in our group, and all of our guides were good drivers. We were impressed by their awareness of the vehicles from other groups and ability to navigate some challenging and crowded situations in the Masai. They were always respectful of the animals and the need to keep a safe distance while also giving us the opportunity to get a good viewing and pictures. We thought they balanced very successfully the needs of the animals with giving us a great safari.
When we come again (yes, we are planning to bring our whole family in 2 years), we would absolutely want Sunworld Safaris and Laban to be our guide again.

Very knowledgeable about animals, guides culture and passion about animals and culture were clear. Drove from Nairobi safely and was flexible on schedule and always willing to do whatever we asked but we learned to follow his recommendations. Highly recommend as he was kind to everyone and considerate (unlike some other guides we saw on safari). Ask for Laban Sadera.

A few days ago we, a family of four, finished a 10-days Sunworld Safari with our wonderful guide Laban Sadera. He showed us the beauty of his home, the Masai Mara, the Hell’s Gate park, Amboseli national park and Tsavo West. Laban proofed to be an expert with his broad knowledge of the mammals, birds, reptiles and the flora. He also had a very good way of explaining all this to us in the context of the respective habitats. Further he told us a lot about Kenyan history and culture. Laban responded well to our individual interests and wishes as family and always had good humour and spirit. Laban is a really safe and diligent driver. We really enjoyed the Safari and couldn’t have wished for a better guide than Laban Sadera of Sunworld Safari.

This is the 2nd safari that Sunworld has planned for us. From our first contact with Sonam and Rebecca until our flight back home they have taken care of everything. Their attention to detail and providing us with the best safari camps and adventures is simply outstanding (my 9th Safari). The communication with Sunworld is top notch! All we have to do is show up and they take care of the rest. But certainly the most important part of any safari is your guide. Sun World has the best guides in the business….and of course we are very partial to Stephen!! 🦁. I am now planning our 3rd safari with Sun World! You will not find a better safari company in Kenya. Highly recommended!!

Good day!!
