Hi, I live part time in California and part time in Kenya.
My friends love to come visit me in kenya. I found that Sunworld Safaris is the best tour operator in kenya. I work with a representative named Joanne. She is quick, responsive and listens to your needs.
I use them a number of times a year to book Safaris for me and my guests.
Look no further. I 💯 guarantee they will provide you with the ideal safari and experience.

From the time we arrived until we were left at the airport, we were treated like royalty.
Our guides, Diger (in Nairobi), John Leng (Samburu) and Symo and Mario (Maasi Mara) were excellent and always on the lookout for how to make our trip special.
When DIger took us to the Elephant Sanctuary, he made sure that we had a great place to view the presentation, then took us to a wonderful restaurant for lunch and made sure we had plenty of time at the Kuzuri bead factory.
John met us at the Samburu airport and by the time we made it to Ashnil, we had already seen 4 of the special five, watched 2 jackals eating their kill while shooing off the vultures and had learned the names of several birds.
We checked in to Ashnil, ate some lunch and went out for a late afternoon ride where we saw a leopard and tracked it for awhile. Our waiter, Elvis was very friendly and helpful and when we decided to have dinner in our tents due to bugs, he very graciously brought our meals to our rooms.
During the night, we had a LOT of rain and we knew that the river was raging, but we went on the morning ride even though it was raining. The rain did not deter the animals and we were soon met with a giraffe standing in the middle of the road just waiting for us. After that we saw three families of elephants and lots of other animals. We had breakfast in the land cruiser as it was still raining.
Upon arriving back at the camp, we were told to pack up and were moved up to Sonara, a sister camp. The operative word being up, which was away from the river. Their staff greeted us warmly and quickly settled us into rooms. After lunch, we went on an afternoon ride and then had a wonderful dinner.
Breakfast the next morning and then we were off for a leisurely ride to the airport. Upon arriving later than expected in Maasi, we were met by Symo and Mario and taken to the Bush Camp where the staff quickly put together a nice lunch for us as they realized we had not eaten since breakfast. Then, out for an afternoon ride.
I cannot say enough great things about the staff at the Bush Camp. Joseph, the manager, left after our first day to go for a home visit and Mercy, Nelson and another woman stepped in and made sure that our every need was met. Donald welcomed us to all our meals and explained everything we needed to know about the food and the Professor was a great bartender. These two men made our dinners fun. And, what can I say about the food - as good as any I have had in a 5-star restaurant. I have told people it was like eating on a Viking cruise (which I consider to be the highest of compliments.) The food selections were varied and imaginative as well as delicious.
We had breakfast on our drives each morning except for the last morning when we opted not to go for a drive and to have breakfast at the samp. When I came down for breakfast, I could not find where they had set it up. And, then I saw a staff member that sent me over to the bar tent. There, I found that they had set up breakfast for the three of us right next to the river. A lot of trouble for three people, but what a treat!
We saw all the animals of the Maasi except the rhino. My friends at home could not believe all the animals that we saw. We saw several prides of lions, as well as 2 leopards and 2 cheetahs - one with small cubs, giraffes, elephants, gazelle, topi, oryx, impala, ostriches (with babies), monkeys, baboons, hippos, zebras, jackals and lots of birds.
I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Mara Bush Camp and all the guides. And, the guards who walked us back and forth from the tents were definitely appreciated and Doris met me every morning with hot chocolate. The staff was definitely the icing on the cake for the trip.
And the accommodations could not have been better! Gives a new meaning to tenting. 🙂
I have already given your information to several people and are recommending your company as the way to see Kenya.
And, I would be remiss if I did not mention the guide that we had on our last day in Nairobi. He met us at the airport, took us for lunch and some shopping and then, we told him that we would be happy to just go to the airport and stay there until time to leave. He left us at the airport at 4:00 and told us to let him know when we had our boarding passes. When we got over to the terminal, they would not let us in so we called the guide. He came back for us as he had not left the grounds and then took us to a hotel where he used his connections to get us up to the roof bar where we could rest until we could go back to the airport. Again, he did not leave the airport grounds until we called and told him we had our boarding passes.
From door to door, your company took care of us - through all sorts of weather.
Thanks so much for a trip of a lifetime!

Our Save the Elephants tour was amazing! Can not say enough good things about our trip coordinator Carolyn and our guide Wilson Siele with Sunworld Safaris! Our visit to Sheldrick Wildlife Eco Lodges at Ithumba and Umani Springs were exceptional, along with our stay at Soroi Lions Bluff. Highly recommend!!!

Carolyn set up our first safari and man was it GREAT! We visited Samburu, Ol Pejeta, Lake Naivasha and Maasai Mara. Carolyn answered all of our questions no matter how trivial and in a timely fashion. Thank you Carolyn.

Obadiah Muraya was our guide and driver. He was the best. His tips on the photos for us guaranteed we will have photos to remember our trip forever. He always gave us exciting experiences daily. They seemed to get better and better as we went along. He was very friendly and we named him the Mayor because he seemed to know all of the guides, which help him find the best animals for us. If we would ever go on another safari, we would want him as our guide and strongly recommend him to anybody. Thank you Obadiah for the experience.

Our first safari was arranged and planned by Sunworld Safaris and it could not have turned out any better.
The Tour Consultant, Carolyn Ndungu, was very responsive, knowledgeable and was very organised. She was excellent!
The driver and guide assigned to us was Obadiah Muraya and he was amazing! We could not have asked for a better guide.
He gave us information about the birds, animals and plants that we saw, and the reserves that we visited. Being a photographer, he always took the 4x4 from vantage points where we can get the best shots! He also had our comfort and safety in mind all the time. He stopped and networked with other guides to get information about sightings. He even helped other guides pull their stuck vehicles two times. What a team player!
We thank Carolyn and Obadiah (we called him OB) for a very successful safari.

When we began to plan our African safari, a friend recommended Sunworld Safaris in Nairobi, Kenya. We are so glad he did! Our consultant at Sunworld suggested an itinerary based on our budget and the time we had available and then customized it further to better fit our travel goals. Every email was pleasant and professional and every question we had was answered promptly and with great detail. As our trip drew near they were always available to answer questions and make changes and additions to our itinerary. We ended up with a 14 day private driving safari through southern Kenya, from Maasai Mara to Hell's Gate to Amboseli and ending in Lumo Conservancy in the Tsavo area. We would not have been able to plan all this without the help of Rinu and Patricia at the Sunworld office.
We requested a safari guide that was knowledgable about birds, and they paired us with Newton Kongo. Newton is a wealth of knowledge on all things natural and historical in Kenya. We were so happy with his expertise and familiarity with all the places we visited, he helped us to identify hundreds of bird species while still making sure we got great views of big game too!
At the end of our trip, our flight home was cancelled. Even though Sunworld does not arrange the air travel, the team made sure that we had plenty of help making arrangements for our return trip. We never felt like we were going to be left on our own, not even for a moment. Our guide Newton and the airport transportation co-ordinator, Baraka, made the conclusion of our Kenya adventure as smooth as they possibly could.
If you are considering a Safari in East Africa, I highly recommend Sunworld Safaris!!

We had booked a safari for a family of four (all adults) from Jan 29 to Feb 2, 2024. It consisted of a one-night stay at the Sopa Lodge at Lake Naivasha and three nights at the Luxury Migration Camp in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. It was an outstanding experience that left a lasting impression on all of us. All elements of the safari were perfectly planned and we were overwhelmed by the beauty of the locations, the great hospitality of the staff at the lodge and the camp and the wonderful wildlife sights. Our driver and guide, Lenny Nkoitoi, was excellent. He mastered many challenging driving situations flawlessly (there was a lot of rain and many roads were muddy or flooded and in parts really difficult to pass). His knowledge of the various animals, their behavior and their preferred locations was stunning; it made the game drives very rich and full of encounters with leopards, hyenas, lions, hippos, ostriches, crocodiles, elefants, gazelles and antelopes, and many more. Overall, it was a most impressive experience to all of us and we commend Sunworld Safaris for the perfect planning and organization of the safari.

We had a connecting flight from Zansibar via Nairobi to Frankfurt. Unfortunately my wife suffered from a food poisoning unable to take the flight back to Frankfurt. I called the sunworld office right away and received immediate help. They arranged an appointment with a very capable doctor at a very well known hospital in Nairobi. A driver picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the hospital. He helped with translation and accompanied us the whole day. Being seriously sick in a foreign country is not a nice experience but if you have at a professional travel agency like Sunworld Safaris you can be lucky! The are so engaged and supportive, always available and very responsive. The really take care of their clients. Thank you so much for your assistance. Very much appreciated!!!

From the beginning of the planning process everything went very well. The communication was easy, we got quick responses, offers that suited our preferences and even in Kenya we always had someone to talk to and got help immediately if needed.
We truely loved the safari in the Maasai Mara! At this point also a big thank you to our incredible guide Obadiah. He always made sure that we get the best view and experience the Mara to the fullest. Apart from the best views and amazing game drives we also got a lot of information regarding animals/the nature/locals from Obadiah, which we really loved. We had a lot of fun and had the best trip.
We would 100% recommend.

We took a 4 day trip to Masai Mara with Sunworld Safaris . Our guide Nixon was outstanding- he made the full day trips comfortable and shared his knowledge with us. He knew where to go in the Mara to have the best game sightings and he also ensured we saw the Great Migration over 2 afternoons. He was very patient and helpful in all ways- made our safari really special
