First things first, this trip was an incredible value especially considering I traveled as a single woman. The only reason I'm not giving 5+ stars is due to the bathroom stops at shops which prey on their clients. Heritage of African Jungles goes above and beyond in all other areas, I hope they will reconsider where they take their clients. Do yourself a favor and browse prices at the airport before you start your tour. If the prices are not clearly marked (they will be at reputable dealers), be sure you know what you are getting. I'm not disappointed in my purchases, but I am embarrassed by the prices I paid unwittingly. Secondly, the contract indicates airport transportation would be covered, but it wasn't. Not a big deal, but worth a mention. Now - the good: Peter was a dream driver! I knew it would be important as a solo woman to connect with my driver because we would be spending so much time together. I couldn't be more pleased with this matchup! He was early to pick me up at my hotel and quickly arranged for a Saturday morning currency exchange at a much better rate than the hotel and along the lines of what I knew to expect. Peter is patient, kind and has such a lovely sense of humor. I sat up front with him the duration of the trip - except for a portion of the Masai safari. He taught me some Swahili, cultural norms, and shared extensive knowledge about plants, animals and Kenya. I went with "mid-range" accommodations which were fabulous. I'll write separate reviews for all of these stops (Punda Millias, Kongoni Lodge, and Osero camp). If I could do this safari over, I would extend it 2 days longer so I could actually spend some time enjoying the amenities. I highly recommend my route: Nakuru (wow! Absolutely amazing wildlife reserve), Lake Naivasha (don't skip the Crescent Island Tour) and Masai Mara (Osero camp is epic!). African Jungles was among the lowest priced tour options for a solo traveler and I could not be more enthusiastic about my recommendation. Arranging the safari was easy, Naomi and her staff were always fast to respond and answered all of my questions thoroughly. I was nervous transferring funds months in advance of the trip, but it all worked out beautifully. I would not hesitate to do another tour with Heritage of African Jungles!

My husband and I recently did a 10 day safari in Kenya and Tanzania that we booked through Heritage of African Jungles. We had a phenomenal experience dealing with Naomy and appreciated how meticulous she was with all of the details of our trip. She addressed all of our concerns and helped us plan a Celiac safe trip for my husband who has Celiac disease. We can't say enough about our driver Francis. He was personable, knowledgeable and flexible. We would highly recommend requesting him. We would absolutely use this company again.

We had a wonderful time with Heritage of African Jungles on our 7-day safari to Masai Mara (3 nights), Nakuru (1 night), Naivasha (1 night) and Amboseli (2 nights) in October 2019. It was very easy to organise the trip with Naomi, who always responded promptly and was open about all the costs. The camps that Naomi recommended for our price range all turned out be excellent and in fact exceeded our expectations. She was also flexible and happy to customise our itinerary - as we planned to go to Mombasa after visiting Amboseli, she bought train tickets for us from Emali to Mombasa and organised transport for us from the train station in Mombasa to our hotel in the city centre. Our guide at the safari, Peter, was always in a good mood and keen to share his knowledge about wildlife and more generally about Kenya. He was always early and patient with us (we took a lot of pictures!), and made a lot of effort to make sure that we had good sightings of animals (and of Kilimanjaro in Amboseli). With Peter as our guide we felt that everything has been taken care of and that there is nothing we should worry about. He did this until the very end of our trip, making sure that we made it through security at the train station in Emali. We managed to see each of the Big Five animals multiple times (lions, elephants and buffalos in Masai Mara and Amboseli, leopards in Masai Mara, and rhinos in Lake Nakuru). We were very lucky to be able to watch a leopard walking for about half an hour in Masai Mara. Other highlights include seeing lion cubs, a small giraffe that was less than one week old and a group of five cheetah brothers in Masai Mara, a large group of elephants in the Mara River, seven rhinos (including a small one) in Lake Nakuru and elephants in front of Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli.  We also enjoyed the boat trip on Lake Naivasha and walking among giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and impalas on the Crescent Island. Before the safari, we went on a day trip around Nairobi (to David Sheldrick elephant orphanage, Giraffe Centre and Karen Blixen's house) with Francis, which we also enjoyed very much. After the trip, we asked Francis for restaurant recommendations and the place he suggested turned out to be exactly what we wanted (very good and not too expensive food). We highly recommend Heritage of African Jungles and will definitely book a tour with them the next time we come to Kenya! Asante sana!

The communications was easy, everything was organised well and fully lived up to our expectations. Our safari guide Francis was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and had an sharp eye spotting animals while driving us safely through Masai Mara. We saw the whole big 5 except rhino.
