Being Danish, I must admit that a visit to Karen Blixen’s old farm was a must… I wanted to see the remains of the old farm and live the history for a few hours. From a history point of view it was very interesting. Fascinating to see the Ngong hills behind the old farmhouse and it was a real pleasure... More

With a personal tour guide included in the price, this is a great value site. Our guide Rebecca was very knowledgeable and gave a detailed, interesting tour. She answered all our questions. It was a very pleasant experience, and this is one of the better-presented museums I have visited in Kenya.

My sons and I visited this museum on the first Sunday in September, and had a great experience. We were allocated our own tour guide, who shared some excellent knowledge about the history of the region, the house itself, and the Out of Africa movie. After viewing the house, we enjoyed a short stroll through the beautiful gardens, and then... More

Nice place to visit especially if you have seen the movie Out of Africa. Movie was shot on site and used the house and grounds to great effect. Kenya's modern history is partly reflected in Karen Blixen's story so from that perspective this is a significant place to visit. If you want to know a bit more about that time... More

After having read the book and understanding each room of the house; after watching the famous movie I felt as if I had visited the farm in Africa with a view of the Ngong Mountains. The staff were very professional. I wish I could have taken pictures inside

Beautiful arrangement of antiques. Worth to pay a visit and appreciate the old times and where we are now!

I had not read the book when I visited so I was a bit apprehensive but the guide knew his stuff, he was so informative and there was no question that he did not know the answer. A thoroughly enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours. I have read the book since returning and I really enjoyed being able... More

You can read all about Karen Blixen on the internet. In fact, you will probably get more and better detailsabout her on the internet than from the tour. The displays are rather benign and the 12 minute film they show is dated and sort of seems worn. If you are a fan of hers, then it may be worth a... More
